The Lantern Center for Recovery The Lantern is a residential sober living facility. We believe that drug and alcohol addictions are progressive, chronic and potentially fatal diseases.

It is OUR MISSION to provide quality sober living to the chemically dependent person and to educate and assist people with recovery from drug & alcohol addiction. We are a fully self-supporting, non-profit organization. The ability to pay is secondary. THE LANTERN will rely on donations and community support to assure no one will be turned away due to financial issues. Insurance does not dictate one's length of stay and everyone treated is dealt with upon an individual basis. Although every resident shares the same disease when it comes to addiction, we here at The Lantern realize that every individual has their particular focus area that needs to be addressed. Residents are treated with the utmost compassion and care rather than being regarded as just another number or statistic. The primary goal of The Lantern is to help with recovery from these addictions and to continue to provide a support system to these people and their families. The Lantern will provide service and rehabilitation through discussion groups and 12 step meetings. These programs provide the most effective method of achieving sobriety. OUR VISION is to be a residential sober living facility accommodating those who think they might have a problem, who are in their addiction and want help and then to be able to come back for follow-up care and carry on the tradition of a clean and sober life.

One year ago, Andrew took a chance on himself and walked into a new way of life. What a difference a year can make! One day at a time, one step at a time, he has continued to show up, take direction, and do the work.

Recovery isn't always easy, but the promises come true when we stay willing, open-minded, and honest. Keep trusting the process, leaning on your Lantern brothers, and walking with your God of your understanding.

Your first year is proof that miracles happen when we don't give up. Lantern brother, this is only the beginning!

Congratulations to John S on 8 years of sobriety today!

When something isn’t running right, you don’t just cover it up and hope for the best. You get underneath it, find the problem, and fix what needs to be fixed.

John stopped ignoring the things that were broken when he entered The Lantern. He knew drugs and alcohol weren’t a working solution. John learned to take an honest look at himself, make the necessary adjustments, and keep up with the maintenance one day at a time.

We never stop! Never stop pursuing sobriety. Never stop helping a newcomer. Never stop searching for your God. Don’t quit before the miracle happens.

Tommy listened, took direction, and hasn’t stopped! He’s all in and continues to be a Lantern brother who can be depended upon. Tommy learned that hard work and dedication are fruitful, both in sobriety and in business. He trudges with a purpose!

Sweet 16 for Todd P today!!!

Done for life!

If we are planning to stop drinking, there must be no reservation of any kind, nor any lurking notion that someday we will be immune to alcohol.

Todd P. has adopted this attitude of being done. His thinking is that, in no conceivable setting or situation, would he get away with using, be able to successfully use again, or have any fun using. Even if he won the lottery!!!

He shares this attitude with his other Lantern brothers. Those who have adopted this attitude, like Todd, have found it helpful.

Keep lighting the path and picking us up off the group room floor.
