The Lantern Center for Recovery

The Lantern Center for Recovery The Lantern is a residential sober living facility. We believe that drug and alcohol addictions are progressive, chronic and potentially fatal diseases.

It is OUR MISSION to provide quality sober living to the chemically dependent person and to educate and assist people with recovery from drug & alcohol addiction. We are a fully self-supporting, non-profit organization. The ability to pay is secondary. THE LANTERN will rely on donations and community support to assure no one will be turned away due to financial issues. Insurance does not dictate o

ne's length of stay and everyone treated is dealt with upon an individual basis. Although every resident shares the same disease when it comes to addiction, we here at The Lantern realize that every individual has their particular focus area that needs to be addressed. Residents are treated with the utmost compassion and care rather than being regarded as just another number or statistic. The primary goal of The Lantern is to help with recovery from these addictions and to continue to provide a support system to these people and their families. The Lantern will provide service and rehabilitation through discussion groups and 12 step meetings. These programs provide the most effective method of achieving sobriety. OUR VISION is to be a residential sober living facility accommodating those who think they might have a problem, who are in their addiction and want help and then to be able to come back for follow-up care and carry on the tradition of a clean and sober life.

Congratulations to Jake O who celebrates 11 years today!!!!

If you wish to heal your own sadness or anger, seek to heal the sadness or anger of another. Those others are waiting for you now.

They are looking to you for guidance, for help, for courage, for strength, for understanding, and for assurance at this hour. If you have 11 years of those hours how much healing have you done? Ask Jake!!!!

Jake’s laugh and beautiful presence fills the room with hope and joy. His strength is felt when he looks you in the eye and lets you know ‘it gets better!’

We’re so proud of you Jake!!!! Keep chasing those waterfalls!!!!

Congratulations to Ken D who celebrates 10 years today!!!!

Everyday is a new beginning, a new chance. We wake up ready to align with our higher power and ask for direction. We put in action… everyday. When you have a decade that’s 3650 days!

Unbelievable Ken! Let us never forget what it is like to be new, with just one of those days.

Keep lighting the path!!!

Congratulations to Frank M who celebrates 5 years sober today!

Do I want to quit? Is there any lurking notion that I can safely use again? What will I be like once I get sober or what do I want to be? These are questions every man must face when he enters the Lantern. Some are not sure, some only develop the desire to stop drinking once they see the proof in the pudding…… and that’s ok at the Lantern, we have lots of pudding.

Frank is an excellent example of having the willingness to be openminded to a new life. He wasn’t always sure. Driven by anger and uncertainty he began. As his sobriety took root, he grew into a new man. Dependable, reliable and present. He’s someone you want by your side. He’ll show up when no one else will- happily. Franks new life and new way of thinking is a far distance from where he was at and we’re so grateful to have him on this journey.

Keep lighting that path frank!!!!

Thank you to all of you who attended The Lantern Fundraiser yesterday. Your support, generosity, and presence made the event truly special. Because of the incredible Lantern community, we are able to continue bringing hope, brotherhood, and recovery to those who need it most in Northeast Ohio.

We are deeply grateful for each and every one of you who showed up, donated, volunteered, and helped make the evening such a success. Thank you for believing in The Lantern and being part of something bigger than ourselves.

Congratulations to Kyle P who celebrates 8 years of sobriety today!

Keep an open mind. Don’t let your past dictate your future. That small sliver of hope that says ‘Maybe this time is different, maybe this will work’ is the key to your new life in sobriety.

Kyle found that sobriety and a new way of thinking, 8 years ago, at the Lantern. Last night he was there with his wife and two children. It’s no mistake. He came with an open mind, a pocket full of hope and feet ready to walk the steps.

Keep lighting the path Kyle!!

5 years????? Colin has 5 years?????

He does!!!! Congratulations to Colin T who celebrates 5 years today!

Colin knows that sobriety isn’t something he conquered once, it’s something he earns every day by staying humble. Par is just showing up and being an example. He understands that no matter how much time has passed, he’s still one bad decision away from the life he fought so hard to leave behind. That humility keeps him grounded, open to growth, and willing to listen instead of thinking he has all the answers. Colin doesn’t forget where he came from, and he uses that memory not with shame, but as fuel to keep showing up, doing the work, and helping others along the way.

Keep lighting that path Colin
