- exists to combat a great neglect in the beauty industry that some Individuals face.

In the words of the founder, Mutayo, she says, "It has always been quite challenging to find makeup that matches my skin tone and texture, I have a rare undertone…

My top lip is darker than my bottom lip and the color requires a certain amount of pigmentation to look good.

The color a lighter person would go for to get the same look I want would be completely different”

Designer Patrick Kelly (1954-1990) is long overdue for his flowers.💐
This past week we visited the ‘Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love’ exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, California🌉 where his designs were put on full display!

Store to Store. Street to Street. City to City. Kelly was confronted with
barriers that postponed his process as a designer. It took a chance on a one-way trip to Paris, France for Kelly to finally squeeze his way into the industry. 🇫🇷

Kelly’s work put a spin on the mocking symbols used for racism and
homophobia. Tools once intended to berate certain groups had
transformed into pieces representing love and the beauty in
overcoming.💖

After being helped by so many individuals in his journey, Kelly had a
"paying it forward" mentality by making it a point to help other black
creatives enter the fashion world. We found that his goal perfectly
embodied the spirit of what we do at the Black Fashion Fund.

A big shoutout goes to the De Young Museum for preserving the memory of Patrick Kelly’s vision. 🙏🏽

HBCU LOVE!💓 Ralph Lauren just collaborated with Spelman and Morehouse to drop an exclusive collection on March 29th.
The creative team referred to the colleges’ history between the 1920s and 50s and captured the unique sophistication that still holds true among current students and alumni.🎓
With the project being completed, there were questions that the BFF asked ourselves...
“Who’s in the Boardroom?
“How in-depth was their research?”
