Hunger Network supports Issue 11. 🍏

Our Board of Trustees has passed a resolution endorsing Cuyahoga County’s Health & Human Services Levy.

Issue 11 renews an existing levy and adds 2.5 mills to support essential services for children, families, and older adults—including mental health and addiction treatment, child protective services, and support for people facing homelessness.

We know how much these services mean to our neighbors. Access to food, a safe place to live, and care when it’s needed helps people and families find stability.

Two Teams. One Van. 🚐 💚

Last Tuesday was Nourishing Our Neighborhoods Day! Our van was funded by Whole Foods Market through their Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, and it’s been on the road ever since rescuing fresh food throughout Greater Cleveland! To celebrate, the team at Whole Foods helped us stuff it. Box by box. Jar by jar. Until it was full.

That same day, every bit of it went to our neighbors at East End Life of Hope Ministries and The Nehemiah Mission.

Thank you, Whole Foods Market, for helping us feed our neighbors! 🥑🍒🍌🍎🧀🍇🍞

🍽️ Night to Fight Hunger is November 6 at the The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland!

Chef Shane and the crew from The FoRK, Hunger Network's own Food Rescue Kitchen, are preparing the 3-course entrée. Chef Brandon Chrostowski of Edwins Leadership & Restaurant Institute and Chef Cory Kobrinski of Astoria Cafe & Market are taking care of our VIP guests, and EDWINS Leadership Institute students are serving appetizers in the main room.

Sunshine ☀️ Rescued ingredients 🍅 Good people 💚

That's the recipe for a perfect weekend at the Hessler Street Fair! The FoRK's homemade dough and sauce were made from rescued ingredients, turning food that would've gone to waste into some seriously good pizza.

Every slice supported Hunger Network's mission to fight hunger in Northeast Ohio, because no one should go hungry and no good food should go to waste.

Roger, Dusty and Julie kept the pizza flowing and the good vibes going from start to finish. Thank you, team! 🙌

And to everyone who stopped by for a slice (or two 👀): you just helped rescue food AND fight hunger.

200 full-choice pantry shifts—and a milestone worth celebrating! 💚

On September 24, MidTown Market completed its 200th full-choice pantry shift since adopting the model in 2024.

Here, neighbors can browse and select the groceries, fresh produce and personal care items that best meet their household’s needs. Because choosing what you bring home matters.

Thank you to Emma, Elijah, our volunteers and everyone who helps make MidTown Market a welcoming place where neighbors can shop with dignity, respect and choice.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! ☀️

On Sunday, our Associate Board hosted our first Partner & Volunteer Picnic at Lincoln Park! There were lawn games, music, fall sunshine, and a spread cooked up by our Food Rescue Kitchen, The FoRK.

This was our way of saying thank you to the volunteers who serve at pantries, deliver food rescues, and show up week after week. You're the reason we can reach neighbors across Northeast Ohio. Seeing so many of you in one place was the best part of our month.

Huge thanks to Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream The Children's Museum of Cleveland Greater Cleveland Aquarium Cleveland Monsters and for the prizes! 🎉

$22,000 on the 22nd—now that’s something to wear orange about. 🧡

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Hunger Network has surpassed our original $20,000 fundraising goal.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we also know the need doesn’t stop at a number. With the rest of September still ahead, we’re setting our sights on a new goal: $30,000.
