Hunger Action Month starts today — and action can look a lot like this. 💚🍏

On August 20, Hunger Network Trustees and Associate Board members joined our team at MidTown Market for a hands-on Board Day of Service.

They spent the morning serving alongside our team and volunteers, connecting with neighbors and experiencing firsthand the work that happens at MidTown Market every week.

After the shift, everyone gathered at the FoRK for lunch prepared by Chef Shane and Sous Chef Dusty — a chance to connect, reflect and enjoy a meal together.

As we begin Hunger Action Month, we’re grateful for everyone who chooses to show up, pitch in and help make a difference for our neighbors.

👶💚 Caring for Midtown's Littlest Neighbors

Starting tomorrow, September 1, we're kicking off Hunger Action Month with our Baby Essentials Community Drive at Hunger Network's Midtown Market!

Now through September 30, we're collecting essential baby items for local new moms and their little ones. Next time you're doing your grocery shopping, consider picking up an extra item or two to drop in our donation bins.

🍼 Most needed: diapers (all sizes), baby formula, baby food, and any other baby essentials you can find in our aisles!

Every pack of wipes and can of formula makes a real difference for a family in our community. Let's kick off Hunger Action Month by supporting our littlest neighbors. 🏡✨

Good food has more to give—and that’s the idea behind The FoRK. 🍏🍽️

We’re excited to see our Food Rescue Kitchen featured in Crain's Cleveland Business

At The FoRK, Food Rescue Program Director Roger Himmelright, Chef Shane Safko and Sous Chef Dusty Tolley are transforming donated groceries and restaurant surplus into nourishing frozen meals for our neighbors.

As we continue building toward full operations, our team is currently preparing approximately 100 individual- and family-sized meals each day—with a future goal of reaching 1,000.

These meals are distributed through schools, health care facilities, shelters and senior centers across our community.

Thank you to Crain’s Cleveland Business and reporter Dan Shingler for taking readers inside The FoRK and sharing the vision behind this growing part of our food rescue work.

We’re still smiling after an incredible day at The Tanglewood Golf Club! ⛳️💚

Last Thursday, friends and supporters came together to celebrate Hunger Network’s 10th Annual Golf Outing. From the putting clinic and on-course fun to the ball drop and evening celebration, the day was filled with friendly competition, meaningful connections and plenty of memorable moments.

For 10 years, this outing has brought together golfers, sponsors, donors, volunteers and friends who believe in our mission. Together, they help Hunger Network connect our neighbors with nutritious food and move us closer to a future where no one goes hungry and no food goes to waste.

Thank you to our co-chairs, committee members, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who joined us on and off the course. We were also proud to recognize Dave Weiner for his longstanding dedication to this special event.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone! 💚

697 pounds of hygiene products donated—that’s so fetch! 💗

Throughout the run of Mean Girls, the Beck Center for the Arts community came together to collect an incredible 697 pounds of hygiene products and household essentials for Hunger Network neighbors.

From dental-care items and toiletries to period products, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and more, these donations will help provide essential items to neighbors throughout our community.

To the entire Beck Center for the Arts community: thank you for participating so generously, supporting Hunger Network, and helping make this drive such a success. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and for everyone who contributed! 💚

Earlier this month, our Hunger Relief Site Managers came together at Bethany Baptist Church for a morning of connection, collaboration, and delicious snacks prepared by our chefs in our Food Rescue Kitchen, the ! 💚

Led by our Program Director, Emma Messett, the meeting focused on what our partners are seeing right now: increasing demand for food and the inventory needed to meet it. We also covered annual July compliance requirements and put our heads together to brainstorm new volunteer sources and services we could purchase collectively at lower rates.

We appreciated having guest speakers Jess Morgan, Chief Programs Officer, and Vontrice Jones, Vice President of Community Partnerships, at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, join the conversation and share their insights.

We also welcomed medical students from Case Western Reserve University’s Horizons Clinic, who shared information about the free care they provide for uninsured and underinsured Clevelanders.

These gatherings give us time to share ideas, learn from one another, and find new ways to strengthen our network. Thank you to Bethany Baptist Church for hosting us and to all of our site managers and partners for everything you do! 🍏
