Sometimes, meeting a basic need is also a way of saying, “You matter.” 💙

We’re grateful to the PERIOD chapter at Case Western Reserve University for helping provide essential period products for youth experiencing foster care.

After Cleveland Angels reached out for support, Celine Chay, Vice President of External Affairs, generously donated three boxes of pads and tampons to our office. And she went a step further—each product included a thoughtful affirmation message, offering a little extra encouragement to the young person who receives it.

For youth in foster care, access to period products can be one more thing they shouldn’t have to worry about. Having these essentials available can help reduce stress and stigma while making sure young people feel supported and cared for.

We’re excited about this partnership and the opportunity to work together to meet an important need—and remind every young person that their dignity matters.

1,500 days. And then, forever. 💛

On the day Winter was adopted, it was also Day 1,500 in foster care.

1,500 days of transitions and uncertainty. Challenges and growth. Laughter and tears. And countless moments of love.

For four of those years, Winter was part of the Wallace family. For nearly 3½ of those years, the family was connected with Cleveland Angels through our Love Box® program, which provides relational and practical support to foster families along the way.

Then came Day 1,500.

Adoption Day. 🎉

The day Winter officially became a permanent part of the family who had loved and cared for her through so much of her journey.

Heather, Winter’s mom, recently shared a message with Chloe, their Cleveland Angels case manager, who has walked alongside their family throughout this journey:
“Honestly, I think you are one of two people that have been with us through this long beautiful journey.”

That’s what walking alongside a family can look like.

Being there through the transitions. The uncertainty. The hard days. The beautiful days.

And then, being there to celebrate Day 1,500.

Winter is adopted. 💛

Today, we celebrate Winter and the Wallace family, and the love and commitment that brought them to this moment.

Happy 6-Year Workiversary, Heather!

Six years of showing up, building relationships, and making a difference.

We’re celebrating Heather and all she’s brought to Cleveland Angels!

Heather first joined Cleveland Angels as an intern in the summer of 2020. Since then, she’s grown into a Case Manager and now serves as our Volunteer Program Coordinator.

Throughout her journey, Heather has had the privilege of walking alongside countless youth and families — listening, supporting, advocating, and helping create connections that remind young people they don’t have to navigate life alone.

Heather continues to bring the same heart and dedication to the work and the people we serve.

Now it’s your turn!

She has big dreams for her future. Could you be the person who walks alongside her?

Heather, our Volunteer Program Coordinator, is introducing us to a 19-year-old young woman who has aged out of foster care and is looking for a Dare to Dream® Mentor in the Parma area.

She recently completed her first year of college and dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She’s also working toward transferring to The Ohio State University to continue her education.

As she takes this next step into adulthood, she’s looking for a mentor who:
• Loves animals
• Is outgoing and bubbly
• Enjoys building genuine connections
• Is excited to get out and experience the community together

That could mean volunteering together, exploring a new opportunity, trying something new, or simply spending time together.

More than anything, she’s looking for connection, companionship, and someone to encourage her as she navigates college, adulthood, and life after foster care.
