HPOA was honored to attend the Hispanic Heritage Month opening ceremony at Cleveland City Hall.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is especially meaningful in law enforcement because it gives us an opportunity to recognize the history, culture, and contributions of the Hispanic community, while also celebrating the many Hispanic men and women who have chosen a life of service.

In law enforcement, our strength comes from the trust and relationships we build with the communities we serve. Hispanic officers bring their experiences, culture, language, and perspectives to that mission, helping strengthen connections and build understanding.

Hispanic Heritage Month is also an opportunity to inspire the next generation, to see that their heritage is something to be proud of and that a career in public service can be a meaningful way to make a difference in their community.

Congratulations to some of our members on successfully completing Specialized Crisis Intervention Training! 👏

The Hispanic Police Officers’ Association is proud to recognize these members for their dedication to professional development and their continued commitment to serving the Cleveland community.

Training like this strengthens our officers’ ability to respond with compassion, understanding, and professionalism when individuals are experiencing a crisis.

Community. Service. Giving Back. 💈🎒👮🏽‍♀️

The Hispanic Police Officers Association (HPOA) was proud to support Ole G’s Barbershop during their Free Haircut & Backpack Giveaway!

HPOA members were on hand to volunteer and help make the event a success by providing food for this event.

Together, the community organizations provided 180 backpacks & 80 free haircuts to local youth—helping students head into the new school year feeling confident and prepared.

A special thank you to Ole G’s Barbershop for bringing the community together and to all of the volunteers who gave their time to make a difference. This is what community partnership is all about!

For the past four years, officers from the Hispanic Law Enforcement Society of Essex County, primarily from the Newark Police Department, have built a special camaraderie with the Hispanic Police Officers Association through an annual tradition of alternating visits between our cities.

Nothing fancy. Nothing boastful. Just police officers coming together, building friendships, enjoying some friendly competition, and staying committed to serving our communities.

Today, we continued that tradition with another great game! ⚾️🏆 The HPOA takes the series this year, winning 2 out of 3 games!

A special thank you to CDP Chaplain Pastora Rosa Colondres for praying over both teams before the game. 🙏

Four years of friendship, community, and a little friendly competition—and we’re already looking forward to next year! 🤝⚾️

Another Softball Monday is in the books ! 🥎

After the game yesterday,the team came together for a family cookout, courtesy of the grill master himself—HPOA President Erik Melendez. 🍔🌭

This is what the HPOA is all about: building relationships, strengthening our police family, and creating lasting memories on and off the field. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it another great evening.

Our fellowship picnic was a day well spent! ☀️🍔🎉

It was packed with great food, fun games, and family-friendly activities. We enjoyed some amazing food, shared laughs, broke bread with our fellow public safety partners, and made memories that will last long after the picnic ended.
