All are welcome to our monthly Spirits & Social Justice conversation, on Thursday, April 9 at 6pm at Pilgrim Church, with guest Anton Krieger of the Buckeye Environmental Network and Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District board. Food & drink!

Outlawing the Use of Radioactive/Carcinogenic Fracking Waste as a Road Deicer

Anton Krieger is an organizer for Oil & Gas Waste for the Buckeye Environmental Network. From Anton: Currently I work on the issue of radioactive oil & gas waste being applied to roads in Ohio as a dust suppressant and deicer. Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ 2024 data showed over 35,000 barrels were recorded as spread on roads in Ohio. I work in both local and state politics to get policy that protects people passed. I also am a board member of the County Soil and Water Conservation District, for the past 5 years. I earned my master's in public administration from Cleveland State University with concentrations in both City Management and Economic Development.

It's that time of year again!!!

While you're outside in your garden preparing for warmer days ahead, take a look at what's for sale to benefit the Tremont Gardeners.

Orders are online only and flower pickup will be Sunday, May 18, from 9 am to noon, at The Mutt Hutt, 2603 Scranton Road.

Once again, our partner - Dean’s Greenhouse - is supplying the plants, and it is a small, locally owned family business.

Orders placed using this link are credited directly to the Tremont Gardeners. Tremont Gardeners' unique shopping link is:
https://app.fundraiseit.org/shop.php?code=28CF54

The online sale for Tremont Gardeners is open now and lasts until 11:59 pm on 04/20/2025. All orders must be submitted by the end of day on April 20, 2025!!

Last year’s sale raised nearly $3,200 for the Tremont Gardeners and beautification projects around the Tremont neighborhood!! So far, this year’s sale proceeds have been earmarked for projects that include planting perennials and some additional trees and shrubs around the gazebo and corners of Lincoln Park, adding some additional perennials to corner gardens along the Scranton Road Historic District, and some as-yet-to-be-determined projects!! (If you have a Tremont beautification project in mind, let me know!!)
