North of Literary Block Club neighbors to gather Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, 6:30pm at Polish Veterans Alliance Post #1 (corner of Professor at Literary)

• Officer(s) of the Second District Cleveland Police Community Services Unit with Neighborhood Safety Concerns
• Heather Hogan and Chris Nielson : From the Central Tremont Block Club. They are gathering signatures for the petition to place a Constitutional Amendment on the ballot in November, 2024 in Ohio. NOL Bylaws on Voting:
Voting must be in person at a meeting, with the exception that a Voting Member may vote by proxy by having delivered to the Chair, prior to the beginning of any meeting, via email or via hard copy correspondence, a statement to the effect that the Voting Member authorizes another specifically named Voting Member (who must be present at the meeting) to cast a vote for the absent Voting Member on a specific issue being voted upon. At their discretion, a Co-Chair may serve as a proxy. It is the Voting Member’s responsibility to timely make and confirm the proxy request with the Co-Chair.
The proposed Citizens Not Politicians Amendment for the Ohio Ballot will:
• Create the 15-member Ohio Citizens Redistricting Commission made up of Democratic, Republican, and Independent citizens who broadly represent the different geographic areas and demographics of the state.
• Ban current or former politicians, political party officials and lobbyists from sitting on the Commission.
• Require fair and impartial districts by making it unconstitutional to draw voting districts that discriminate against or favor any political party or individual politician.
• Require the commission to operate under an open and independent process.

To qualify for the November 2024 ballot, the campaign needs more than 413,000 signatures validated by boards of elections. They’re aiming for double that, because boards of elections often reject a percentage.
Any questions or concerns about the meeting or block club activities, please contact Co-Chairs, Kathleen Sullivan ([email protected]) and Fred Calatrello ([email protected]).
