Every voter deserves an accessible path to the ballot box.

A group of Ohioans with disabilities, community members, and advocates has sent an open letter to OHSecofState Frank LaRose calling for improvements to curbside voting signage. While curbside voting is guaranteed under Ohio law, current signs can be difficult to see, read, and navigate, creating unnecessary barriers for voters.

We're looking for a Graphic + Visual Artist!

Cleveland VOTES is seeking a graphic and visual artist or creative design partner to design a civic engagement toolkit for our More Than My Art (MTMA) program. This toolkit will provide artists, community members, and civic partners with accessible resources that connect creativity, culture, and civic participation.

We're especially interested in designers who understand the power of visual storytelling to inspire participation, foster belonging, and strengthen collective action!

The RFP is now open! Applications are due July 10, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

The Vote Squad application deadline has been extended to June 25th!

Cleveland VOTES is excited to recruit for the Vote Squad, a team of dedicated canvassers working to strengthen civic participation and build a more equitable democracy across our communities.

Supported by the Cleveland Freedom Dreams Coalition, Vote Squad members play a critical role in voter outreach efforts, including voter registration, direct voter contact, door-to-door canvassing, and other civic engagement activities that help expand access to democratic participation.

We're seeking individuals who bring a deep commitment to racial equity, civic power, and participatory democracy.

Position Details:
• Part-time seasonal role (July–November 2026)
• Hybrid work model
• $20/hour
• Up to 80 hours per month

Dear Ohio Secretary of State, make curbside voting more accessible for Ohioans with disabilities.

Ohio law guarantees the right to curbside voting for those who are physically unable to enter a polling location [R.C. 3501.29(C)]. While we have seen signs erected at all of the polling locations we’ve been to, the signs themselves are not accessible.
