It's neighbors and artists who turned blank walls into belonging, mentorship and hope. It's a community telling its own story, one mural at a time.

From Impart216, led by artist Robin Robinson, to murals across Mt. Pleasant, this is the story of history worth remembering, creativity worth celebrating and a neighborhood worth fighting for.

We walk because every child in Mt. Pleasant, and in every neighborhood across our city, deserves a Lead Safe home and the chance to paint their own future.

It’s the sound of self-starters making something from nothing and of people paving the way for generations of art and culture.

This is the story of Boddie Recording Co. and the house band at Kinsman Grill, who took that sound far beyond the neighborhood.

1 in 5 Cleveland children test positive for lead poisoning before kindergarten. No child should be poisoned by lead, which is why our Lead Walk & Rally is held every year in one of the city's most impacted neighborhoods.

This year, that neighborhood is Mt. Pleasant. It’s not just where we're walking, it’s why we're walking.

This is a neighborhood of front porches and maple-lined streets, of block clubs that never stopped showing up, of a barbecue restaurant that's fed three generations and of murals telling the neighborhood's story in its own voice.

Over the next few weeks, we're sharing that story. The community, the people, the food and the art that make Mt. Pleasant worth fighting for.

For Cleveland children, the greatest threat of lead poisoning is in their own homes. You can help keep your family safe by checking your home’s build year, looking for chipping or peeling paint and talking with your child’s healthcare provider about lead testing at ages 1 and 2.

Mount Pleasant, we’re headed YOUR 🫵 way this Halloween for our Sixth Annual Lead Walk and Rally!

This is a storied neighborhood with a proud history, strong community spirit and determination – but lead poisoning has affected our children, homes and schools for TOO LONG, leading to lifelong health and developmental issues.

The Walk is a time for us to come together with local businesses (stay tuned 👀), community partners, leaders and neighbors to make some noise about this important issue. We will start at Alexander Hamilton Rec and walk to Zelma George Rec for the Rally. Come in costume and expect candy! FREE attendance, FREE food and FREE lead testing 🛼
