We're proud of the momentum we're building through our collaboration with Better Health Partnership.

As Dr. Eick said, “Cleveland cannot let lead screening and testing progress slip away.”

🔖 Lead Safety Q&A with Taryn Fomby

We recently connected with Taryn Fomby, Assistant Director of Nursing at Care Alliance Health Center and a clinical lead of the Lead Safe Screening & Testing Program. This program is part of the broader work of the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition.

Taryn shared thoughtful insights about development and health impacts as well as the importance of community advocacy. Her responses offer a deeper look at the work happening in our community to protect children and families.

With the help of Better Health Partnership, we’re already increasing lead testing for children during regular pediatric checkups before age 2 – helping families identify concerns earlier and access support sooner.

This progress is part of a broader, coordinated effort by many partners across our city. As we move into the New Year, this momentum will continue to grow, bringing us closer to a Lead Safe Cleveland 👏
