A boarded-up house is not the end of the story.

In this Cleveland Pulse clip, Anthony Scott breaks down what happens when a home is too unsafe to save: boarding, demolition, foreclosure, land bank transfer, and the long road to redevelopment.

That empty lot in your neighborhood? There is a whole system behind how it got there — and what happens next.

A house can stay in the family and still become stuck.

That is the danger of heirs property.

In this Cleveland Pulse clip, Anthony Scott explains how passing a home to multiple children without a clear plan can create “zombie title” issues that block repairs, assistance, and stability. That is how generational wealth gets delayed — or lost.

Protect the legacy. Have the conversation. Make the plan.

Join us this month for our NAACP Cleveland Branch General Body Meeting.
Cuyahoga County binds over more youth to the adult judicial system than the four other largest counties in Ohio — combined. What does that mean for our young people, our families, and our future?

We're honored to welcome Jean Reinhold of the Greater Cleveland Congregation (GCC), whose CourtWatch Team has spent the past year sitting in on more than 140 hearings to study this practice firsthand. She'll share their findings and the team's recommendations for change.

This is the conversation Cleveland needs to be having. Come listen, learn, and be part of the response.

🎙️ Speaker: Jean Reinhold, Greater Cleveland Congregation

All are welcome. Bring a friend, bring your questions, bring your voice.

“I was taught that men are violent…”

That line hits hard because too many boys grow up learning survival before they ever learn safety.

In this clip, Eric King Sr. opens up about how being pushed to fight as a child shaped the way he saw manhood and connected with other men later in life. This is bigger than one story. It is about how trauma, masculinity, and community lessons can follow us for years.

Real healing starts when we tell the truth.

“Oddly enough, I got into this space after the University of Akron asked me not to return.”

This clip from Cleveland Pulse is a reminder that purpose does not always arrive the way we expect. Eric King Sr. shares how a personal setback, a season of depression, and a major life choice led him into the work he was meant to do.

From pain to purpose.
From uncertainty to impact.
That is real transformation.

Attacks on fair representation are happening right now. Legislatures are rushing to redraw maps and silence the political voice of Black communities across the country.

This moment demands organized action and collective power.

Join us on Thursday, May 14, as we break down the immediate threats to our vote and learn more about how we can fight back. https://naacp.org/events/all-units-call-redistricting-next-steps

There are no “good” or “bad” emotions.
There are only comfortable and uncomfortable ones.

In this clip, Eric King Sr. breaks down a truth a lot of us need to hear: you may not be able to control every emotion, but you can manage how you behave when you are triggered. That is where healing, growth, and accountability meet.

Be you.
Embrace every aspect of your humanness.
That is real strength.
