Today, Kittitas County Fire District 7 benefited from the increased career staffing made possible by the community-supported levy lift, which continues to strengthen support for our volunteer firefighters and enhance service to our community and visitors.

Late this afternoon, firefighters responded to concurrent incidents across the District. Career and volunteer personnel, along with the USFS, handled a fire in the Liberty area. Shortly afterward, additional staff responded to a motorcycle accident, assisting Medic One by providing Firefighter EMTs and a BLS unit to help treat and transport a patient.

KCFD7 is grateful for the levy lift that funded the additional staffing at Station 76, which continues to improve our response capabilities, expand resource availability, and elevate the level of service we provide to the residents and visitors of Kittitas County Fire District 7.

Today, local first responders had the honor of attending First Responder Friday Lunch at Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary

Opportunities like this allow us to connect with the kids we serve, share a few smiles, and remind them that their firefighters, EMS providers, and law enforcement officers are always here for them.

Good reminder from our friends at the NWS! Please stay out of the water, even as temps start to rise next week!

Good reminder from our friends at the NWS! Please stay out of the water, even as temps start to rise next week!

Warm air does NOT mean warm water!

While temperatures will warm into the 70s and 80s this weekend, our local lakes and rivers are still in the 40s and 50s. Jumping or falling into water this cold triggers an immediate, life-threatening "cold water shock" response. You can lose the ability to breathe and swim in a matter of minutes.

If you are enjoying the beautiful weather on the water this week, wear your life jacket. It could save your life.

Crews spent Saturday preparing new wildland hose packs for distribution across multiple apparatus and stations. These updated hose packs are more efficient and purpose-built to enhance our operational effectiveness and better serve our community.

In the coming weeks, we will begin an intensive wildland refresher training program to ensure our members are fully prepared for the challenges this fire season may bring.
