Closer than a Brother

CTAB is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping Combat Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war deal with PTSD. CTAB was formed by a small group of USMC Combat Veterans almost 10 years after their time together in Iraq together. Some of us had completely written off PTSD as a way for people to get attention, but as time went by discovered that things were not

right inside, in fact things that at first seemed small grew into large problems over time. They never felt comfortable saying that something was wrong until they opened up to each other and realized that they all were dealing with similar things like depression, anger, anxiety, isolation, and feeling numb. CTAB believes it is essential that Combat Veterans be provided with an opportunity to be reunited with the guys who they served with. No one understands what these men went through and deal with on a regular basis more than the guys who were there with them. While bringing groups of Veterans who may have gone through similar things together to try and get them to talk about their experiences does help, it’s hard for Combat Veterans to open up to a complete strangers who were not there with them Veteran or not. CTAB wants to bring guys back together Providing them with an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities with their brothers like back country hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, boating, and giving them the opportunity to talk about the things they went through and things they struggle with. Are Combat Veterans served us with an unrelenting dedication one that most will never truly be able to understand! These men are not made of stone and need help
