It was an honor to lower the flags at the Cle Elum Cemetery to half staff today in honor of fallen Air Force Major Ariana Savino, from Covington, who tragically lost her life in the line of duty aboard a KC-135 Stratotanker during a mission in Iraq.

At the Cle Elum Safeway this morning collecting donations for VFW post 1373! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps funds our activities year round! We will be here from 9 to 3! Every year the community responds bigger and better, thank you in advance!

Today VFW Post 1373 recognized the 1st Place winner of the VFW’s District 7, 2024 Patriots Pen Essay, from Walter Strom Middle School in Cle Elum WA, Patrick L Hill.

VFW post 1373 paid their respect today to one of our own, Roslyn native and WW2 veteran Carl Vrtnar. R.I.P. Carl, we will miss you.

Today, VFW Post 1373 laid almost 400 graveside flags for veterans at the Cle Elum Cemetery. This could not have been done without the assistance of volunteers throughout the community. VFW Post 1373 also replaced the Coast Guard, POW Flag, and the Colors at the Douglas Munro Laurel Hill Memorial Park. Thank you to all involved.
