Project Yoga Cincinnati

Project Yoga Cincinnati Project Yoga’s mission is to bring the healing and therapeutic benefits of yoga and mindfulness to at We hone the skills of mindfulness.

Project Yoga gives underserved communities a chance to experience the emotional and physical well being that can result from the practices of yoga and mindfulness. Yoga postures are challenging--even the simplest ones build strength, flexibility and resiliency from the inside out. We teach breathing techniques, showing how the act of breathing mirrors how we feel. We teach how to be patient and ge

ntle with ourselves. How to respond rather than react to difficult emotions, pain and stress. To us, learning how to stand on one foot is not as important as learning how to fall and get back up. From a physical standpoint, yoga stretches not only muscles but the soft tissues of the body. That includes ligaments, tendons, and the fascia sheath that surrounds the muscles of the body. Project Yoga’s certified instructors are trained to teach to varying levels of ability and how to modify poses for safety. Modifying mindfulness practices and yoga poses to specific audiences is our forte. Project Yoga teachers know the intelligence behind moving and breath work. Our teaching style is straightforward and jargon-free. Project Yoga is pleased to be part of Cincinnati's movement towards 'whole person' approaches to mental health, wellness, physical strength, and resiliency.

As the year comes to a close, we pause to honor all the lessons, the growth, the challenges, and the moments that shaped us. ✨

Tonight, we release what no longer serves us, carry forward the wisdom we’ve gained, and open the door to a fresh new season.

Repeat this mantra with us:

“I release what has passed, carry forward what I’ve learned, and step into the new year ready to grow.”

Here’s to renewal, resilience, and the beautiful unfolding ahead--and of course, Happy, Happy New Year!🌙💛

Happy Holidays from Project Yoga! ❄️💛

Wishing our entire community a season filled with peace, rest and meaningful moments. Thank you for breathing, growing and showing up with us all year long!

May your days be calm, your hearts be full, and your season be sprinkled with joy.

12/23/2025

Grateful. Today and always. 💛

This season reminds us just how lucky we are to be surrounded by such an incredible community — the students who show up with open hearts, the partners who open their doors to us, and the supporters who believe in our mission every step of the way.

From classrooms to shelters, schools to studios, every connection reminds us that Project Yoga is more than a program… it’s people. It’s shared breath, shared space, shared growth.

We’re grateful for the ripple effect you've helped us create! 🙏

If you’ve been following along, you might’ve noticed we’ve been talking a lot about the nervous system lately — and that’s not by accident. The holiday season is full of joy, connection, and celebration… but it can also be fast, loud, and overwhelming.

When your nervous system is regulated and in homeostasis, everything feels more spacious. You’re more present at the table, more patient in the chaos, and more able to actually enjoy the moments you’ve been waiting for.

So consider this your gentle reminder: pause, take a breath, soften your body. Regulating your nervous system isn’t about doing less — it’s about feeling better. And a calmer system makes for a warmer, more meaningful holiday season. 💛

When stress builds, your nervous system often shifts into a sympathetic state — commonly known as fight-or-flight. The practices below work because they send clear, physical signals of safety back to the brain, helping the body transition into a parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) state.

Take a few minutes to try these 5 steps yourself. What do you notice? How do you feel?

You may not feel “calm” all at once — and that’s okay. Often the first shift is subtle: a deeper breath, softer muscles, clearer thinking. With consistent practice, your nervous system learns to return to regulation more quickly and with less effort.

🎁✨ Looking for a meaningful way to give back this holiday season? ✨🎁

Project Yoga is always looking for hearts and hands to help spread calm, connection, and care throughout Greater Cincinnati — and there are so many ways to get involved:

🧘‍♀️ Volunteer — Support our programs, events, and outreach in schools and community spaces.
💛 Donate — Your gift helps bring trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness to those who need it most.
🤝 Partner With Us — Businesses and community organizations can help expand access to healing practices.
📣 Spread the Word — Sharing our mission is a powerful form of support, too.

12/12/2025

When you practice yoga and meditation, you’re actually learning how to shift the nervous system from ‘fight-or-flight’ (the stress response) into ‘rest-and-digest’ (the calm, balanced state).

These small mindfulness moments help your body feel safe, mind feel steady and nervous system balanced.

Take a moment and give it a try!

Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes or have a soft gaze, focus on your breath being steady and seeing if your exhales can be just even one second longer than your inhales. Allow yourself to just be, you don't need a timer! Let us know how you feel in the comments ☯️
