We believe a realistic way to do this would be for Congress to pass a law enacting a Carbon Fee & Dividend. Depending on your location, we are two Chapters in San Diego that meet on the 2nd Saturday every month. Currently our meetings are on-line.

CCL San Diego Central covers the City of San Diego and the South Bay. CCL Encinitas covers North County. What we believe:

Citizen Empowerment:
Governments will respond to the will of the people provided we tell them what we want. And what we want is a livable world. This is what Citizens’ Climate Lobby works for. To empower citizens to connect with and influence their members of Congress. To spread the idea that each one of us can address climate change. Working together we can make this happen. Carbon Fee and Dividend:

By building constructive, working relationships with members of Congress we seek passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, a climate change solution that bridges the partisan divide. Carbon Fee and Dividend, a revenue-neutral carbon tax with 100% of the net revenue returned directly to households, will reduce greenhouse gas emissions 52% below 1990 levels within 20 years while growing the economy and saving lives. CF&D has been turned into a Bill, HR 763, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. It has 80 sponsors in the 116th Congress.

Join us at 9:45 AM for coffee, tea, and light refreshments. We'll watch CCL’s Monthly National Call together at 10:00 AM, followed by our local chapter meeting, where we'll connect with fellow volunteers, share updates, and discuss upcoming activities.

➡️ This month's National Call will focus on election engagement and ways CCLers can elevate the climate issue and climate voters in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Hear from volunteers involved in postcard writing, phonebanking, and candidate engagement, plus national highlights and a live action you can take during the meeting.

To fully explore carbon pricing advocacy, including our options moving forward, CCL has partnered with Resources for the Future to launch a brand new, six-part virtual learning series. The first session, “Current Economic Consensus on Carbon Pricing” will take place Thursday, Sept. 3.

This kickoff will provide a baseline foundation for everyone, whether you’re new to carbon pricing or have been advocating for it for years. You’ll hear how leading researchers approach the policy, what decades of data tell us about its effectiveness, and the key design choices policymakers face.
