Sweetwater Chapter- MOAA Chapter of MOAA, a veteran's association open to those who hold or have held a warrant or commission in any component of the USA uniformed services.

Local chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). MOAA is a nonprofit veteran's association dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and ensuring our nation keeps its commitments to currently serving, and former members of the uniformed services and their families and survivors. Membership is open to those who hold or have ever held a warrant or commission in any comp

onent of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or NOAA and their surviving spouses.

Hope to see you at the Chapter's last luncheon of the year -- Wednesday, 12/10 at Anchor Catering (11-1 PM). The officers for 2015 will be installed, and a representative from the Veterans Village of San Diego will tell a bit about their important work with area vets.

November's luncheon will be on the 12th at 11 AM. Anchor Catering on Yama Street will be the location (the regular place). A person from the university group which sponsors the FLIP research ship will be the speaker.

Next regular monthly luncheon will be on Wednesday, October 8th at the usual spot (Anchor Catering at the Navy Base). The speaker is to be a representative from the USS Midway Museum. See you there.

The guest speaker for the August 13 luncheon at Anchor Catering (Navy Base, San Diego) will be Larry Wilske, a former Navy SEAL. Come on down at 11 AM for good food, fellowship and, of course, to hear the what this former SEAL has to say.

At the SoCal Joint Chapter meeting on September 20, at MCAS Miramar, the speaker will be the President of MOAA, VAdm Norb Ryan Jr., USN (Ret). This is one not to miss.

The Chapter's next luncheon meeting is set for April 8th at 11:00 AM in the Anchor Catering facility at the Naval Base. (Enter off Main St., just west of I-5 in San Diego.) The speaker will be Capt. Rud, former commander of the Blue Angels. Join us for the comraderie, speaker, and a wonderful lunch.
