2026 VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FUND GRANT

A few months ago, Chocowinity Fire Department was fortunate to be awarded funding through the 2026 Volunteer Fire Department Fund Grant. Since then, we have been working to purchase and place this new equipment into service.

Through this grant, we were able to add much-needed equipment including new fire hose, turnout gear, pagers, thermal imaging equipment, a battery-powered ventilation fan, scene lighting, and battery-powered saws and tools.

This equipment will help improve firefighter safety, replace aging equipment, and strengthen our ability to better serve the citizens of Chocowinity and the surrounding community.

We are proud to put this new equipment to work protecting and serving our community.

Thank you to the Cypress Landing community and golf course for the First Responders Golf Tournament. We didn’t come in last place but it sure looked like we were trying to.

As we reflect today on the losses of 9/11 25 years ago we gathered as a family today to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to all of the first responders and family members who joined us this for the walk this morning.

🔥 Live Burn Training 🔥

Last Thursday night, our members participated in live burn training, giving some of our newer firefighters the opportunity to experience realistic fire conditions in a controlled training environment.

The training also gave some of our newer pump operators valuable hands-on experience operating the engine, while other members practiced setting up and operating our ladder truck.

Training like this gives our members the opportunity to build confidence, improve their skills, and work together as a team so we are better prepared when the call comes in.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and participated!

Proudly Protecting and Serving Our Community! 🚒🔥
