Chico State engineering and computer science students are, quite literally, taking their learning to new heights.
Working with lecturer Josh Miranda, these Wildcats are flying camera-mounted drones over North State orchards and using software they developed to help growers more accurately estimate walnut yields before harvest.
Along the way, they’re gaining valuable hands-on experience while tackling a real challenge facing one of California’s most important agricultural industries.
