Chicagoland Chamber CEO Jack Lavin shared his perspective on the importance of preparing students for the realities of today's workplace, noting that many employers are struggling to find entry-level talent with the foundational skills needed to succeed.

As part of that effort, the Chamber is participating in the AP Business with Personal Finance program, a new initiative from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and College Board that helps students build practical business knowledge, financial literacy, and workplace readiness skills.

Grow Chicago provides a platform for Chicago-area businesses to share their stories and highlight how pro-growth policies help support their success and boost local economic development.

“Growth is the foundation of everything and must be at the center of public policy. It is the engine that powers our economy, strengthens competitiveness, reduces budget deficits, creates jobs and opportunities for people to succeed, and sustains Chicago and Illinois as world class economic centers,” said Jack Lavin, President and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.

The Emerging Leaders Council is dedicated to developing the next generation of business leaders across the Chicago region by providing early and mid-career professionals with opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills and expand their professional experience.

Council members contribute to event planning, help guide programming, and serve as ambassadors for the Emerging Leaders community. Through these experiences, they develop as leaders while building meaningful relationships and contributing to Chicago's business landscape.

A day after Michael Reinsdorf and Danny Wirtz joined us at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting to talk about the 1901 Project, they broke ground on this transformational project.
