What a beautiful reminder that when people come together with love, generosity and a shared purpose, wonderful things happen!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Luka Vukanic and his family for organizing this special outing, the Pavle Vukanic Memorial Open, in loving memory of Luka’s father. What a meaningful way to honor his legacy — by bringing people together in friendship and generosity while making a difference in the lives of others.

A Transformation Built on Dignity ❤️

What a difference compassion can make.

Thanks to an extraordinary $100,000 grant from Tauck, Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago has completed a major renovation of the Women’s Pavilion bathroom facilities at the Sremčica Institution in Serbia—facilities that had remained largely unchanged since 1969.

Four large bathrooms and four toilet facilities were completely renovated, providing new showers, washbasins, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, water heaters, doors and more.

But this project is about far more than new facilities. It is about providing the women who live at Sremčica with dignity, comfort, safety and respect every single day.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine and HRH Crown Prince Alexander visited Sremčica to see the completed project and spend time with residents and staff.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Tauckfor this remarkable generosity and for helping Lifeline continue its mission of improving the lives of those who need us most.

✨ A Brighter Space for the Children of Spomenak Home ✨

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Three Kolo Group of Serbian Sisters of Illinois — St. George of Joliet, Kneginja Zorka of Lansing, and St. Archangel Michael of Lansing — the children at Spomenak Home in Pančevo now have a beautifully renewed space to call their own.

Their shared living room has been transformed into a warm, welcoming environment where children and youth can relax, spend time together, and feel a true sense of comfort and belonging in their daily lives.

With new furnishings, fresh design, and thoughtful details, the room now reflects care, dignity, and love — a place where young people can simply be children.

A VISIT THAT INSPIRED CHANGE. LIFELINE CHICAGO CONTINUES SUPPORT FOR THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH INSTITUTE in BELGRADE.

Sometimes, the most meaningful acts of generosity begin by simply seeing a need firsthand.

Last fall, Michael and Tricia Sakich visited the Institution for the Education of Children and Youth in Belgrade, formerly known as the Vasa Stajić Shelter. Seeing the difficult conditions firsthand left a lasting impression and inspired their family to help make a difference.

Through their generous support of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, the Institution received 25 new wardrobes, 25 desks, and 25 chairs. Two bedrooms were also completely repainted and brightened with colorful wall paneling, while two badly needed doors were replaced.

These improvements provide the children and young people with more comfortable, welcoming, and dignified spaces to live, study, and grow.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine expressed her gratitude to the Sakich family for their compassion and generosity, emphasizing that projects like this are not only an investment in facilities, but also in the children’s future.

Lifeline Chicago extends our heartfelt thanks to Michael and Tricia Sakich and their family for turning what they witnessed into meaningful action. Their generosity is a beautiful reminder that compassion, when followed by action, can create lasting change.

RENOVATION OF THE CHILDREN’S HOME IN BANJA LUKA ❤️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and supporters of the 8th Annual Lifeline Chicago Florida Golf Outing, another major renovation project has been completed at the Rada Vranješević Home for Children in Banja Luka.

The project included the complete renovation of the sixth educational group’s living area, including bedrooms, the living room, kitchen, dining room, hallways, and a fully remodeled bathroom made possible by a generous donation from Mrs. Edita Krunic. New furnishings, appliances, flooring, carpeting, and curtains have created a brighter, safer, and more welcoming home for the children.

Lifeline Chicago Renovates Two Children’s Playgrounds in Belgrade

Because every child deserves a safe place to play. ❤️

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of The John and Mildred Medich Wuchenich Foundation, two children’s playgrounds at the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj and Drinka Pavlović Homes in Belgrade have been completely renovated and enhanced.

Originally donated by the Foundation and now beautifully restored, these playgrounds provide children with a safe, joyful space to laugh, play, and create happy memories.

Crown Princess Katherine and Lifeline Chicago continue support for children’s home in Sremčica

Lifeline Humanitarian Organization Chicago, under the Patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, is proud to continue supporting the Children’s Home in Sremčica. ❤️

Thanks to the generosity of the Kolo of Serbian Sisters of St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Church Ravanica in Detroit and their wonderful Junior Kolo Group, we donated 26 new mattresses, bed linens, colorful blankets, and mattress protectors for the children’s section of the Home.

Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces as they enjoyed their refreshed rooms was truly heartwarming. These gifts provide not only comfort, but also a reminder that they are loved, remembered, and cared for.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make this meaningful donation possible. Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of children in need. ✨
