🎉 We are proud to congratulate Andy Malovance on his outstanding accomplishment of advancing to the finals of the 2026 BrookWright Brass Solo Contest, which included over 30 musicians from 6 different countries in the prelims! 🎉

Andy serves as the Principal Cornet of CBB and is also the Music Director of our Chicago Youth Brass Band. We’re excited to see his talent and musicianship recognized on such a fantastic stage!

On Tuesday night, the band celebrated Mark Taylor's 60th birthday with the Milwaukee Festival Brass! Happy Birthday Mark!

While it was a night of fun and celebration, it was also a bittersweet goodbye to one of our members and soprano cornet player, Marc Smith. Marc's time with the band has been invaluable, and we will miss him dearly! Marc had his final performance with CBB on Tuesday, where he played a beautiful feature solo!

Marc will be going on to serve as the Divisional Music Director for the Salvation Army Intermountain Division in the Western Territory. We wish him the best of luck in his next steps!

Last Friday, the band played for the wedding ceremony of one of our members, Eric Caldwell and his wife Kaela, congrats!! It was a beautiful day, and we were thrilled to provide the ceremony with elegant brass music. 🎺🎶💍

We hope that everyone had a great and safe Fourth of July weekend! 🇺🇸 A group of Chicago Brass Band musicians and friends showed their pride on the 250th by playing some patriotic tunes in the Barrington Fourth of July parade!
