The Illusion, presented by TimesUP Productions, screens October 25th at Marcus Theatres – Roosevelt Collection— a one-night-only event you don’t want to miss.
This powerful short film features our very own Olivia Clarke, her sister, and two other young adults whose stories intertwine to honor her life and continue her legacy. Olivia trusted filmmaker Tiffany White to tell her story — and this film keeps her memory alive through purpose and impact.

Today we feature who shared “I am a sweet and caring person and I try to look on the ligher side of life but cancer is hard to do that sometimes.” Her funny story: “I just started lossing my hair so I did alot funny videos on TikTok with old mad sounds.” Very cool admission!

Today we highlight and she shares this funny cancer story “I was 4 cycles in on chemotherapy and then my hysterectomy to treat my endometrial cancer was scheduled. At this point I had lost ALL of my hair completely. After waking up from the surgery, Harry Potter was playing on the TV in the recovery room. I, being completely high, see Voldemort on the screen, and say, ‘VOLDEMORT! I look like him!’ My sister and niece burst out laughing. I was quite the comedian waking up from surgery. I had them laughing the whole time.” community

Our dear shared “I’m a mom, wife, lunch lady and TNBC survivor. Towards the end of my treatment, I started “happy Mail”, (free for cancer and chronic illness warriors.) To help others feel less alone in their journey. Because cancer can be so isolating. And it’s been a hit! It’s touched many lives since last January. I may have started it, but the TikTok community has kept it going with their donations. 🩷 I love it! But as a mom, wife and happy mail creator, it would be so nice to get something just for me. And I truly appreciate this opportunity! Thank you for all you do!!” Her funny story is Al’s above and here too: “Sometimes, I miss being bald. Is that weird? Zero maintenance and if someone found a hair in their food, I was quick to say, “wasn’t mine!” 🤣”

“I am two time breast cancer survivor. Toddler mom and a maxillofacial surgeon. I love making macrame art. The hobby keeps me sane. I have a lovely supporting husband and family. I also love your page and I truly thinks you do a great job of keeping cancer patients in lighter moods,” said . Her funny cancer story is: “Well, when I got diagnosed with breast cancer on my left side, five years after my right, I thought finally I will have symmetrical b***s. But alas! Even my non-b***s are not symmetrical I didn’t think it was even possible.” community

Today we discuss who said: “I’m currently in treatment and have been for five years. It’ll be nice to get a refresh on new items to make my visits better.” As for a funny cancer story: “After one of my surgeries my doctor had said once you let out gas it’s a step closer to getting discharged. So me and my sister decided to walk around the lobby. Nurses had mentioned to chew gum because it helps so I did. After 10 minutes, I stopped looked at my sister and let out a small ‘toot’ we both cheered giving each other high fives then a couple walking by said we’d like to join your party, why are you so excited?” I said “I tooted”!!! They both look confused and walked away.”

We learned some wonderful things about . She said: “I will be receiving treatment through the holidays and would love a pick me up. “I’m a mama, newly diagnosed with BC. I love to volunteer to help others, love to cook, and dance!“ Kate has helped so many people within the cancer community and she has just had to tell her children she has cancer, again. She could truly use some joy in her life.”

It’s always fun to describe and talk about a member the community. Here is . She had two types one was her too positive. The other one was her two negative one was estrogen positive. The other one was estrogen negative same with the progesterone. I love getting care packages it is kind of my love language. Normally it is me handing them out. But having cancer treatment last year and not working for so long, I’m not able to do things that I used to be able to do for other people and it sucks. Stage 4 metastasis lung cancer I follow you daily. Sorry but I also used many of your posts on my treatment posts. I find it difficult to tell people how I really feel & your posts alreally help. I also feel it would be amazing to receive something from you & your amazing site.” Her funny cancer story: Just before my double mastectomy I had ordered a mastectomy bra. The night before I was to have the surgery we were totally on nerves and the Alexa had gone off and said that there had been a delivery. When I asked Alexa, what my notification was, she said a mastectomy. And at the time it just was so funny and we laughed our butts off! That could not have happened in 1 million years again.”

Our latest holiday care package recipient is Ren Dortschy who shared “I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in January 2023. I have been through 36 chemo sessions with more coming (not ending till I do ;) ). I had Whipple surgery in January 2024 which is major surgery, but in September the cancer came back to my liver. I am searching for a clinical trial but meanwhile trying to stay positive as I’ve been throughout. I could really use the uplifting materials in the care package.” Now a funny story: “My friend’s 3-year-old grandson noticed the vertical scar down the center of my body (it was Whipple surgery scars) when we were poolside this summer. He said it was my Whipple Warrior Mark that was a superpower!”
