We’re excited to welcome 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗧. 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗝𝗿. (“𝗚𝗲𝗼”) to the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute faculty this Fall! 🎶

With a lifetime of experience as a 𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, Geo brings a wealth of musical knowledge and a deep commitment to music education to HPSI.

This Fall, he will lead our 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, designed to help young musicians develop their musical foundations through engaging, collaborative instruction.

Students will explore:

🎹 Piano technique
🎼 Music reading & notation
🥁 Rhythm, melody & harmony
🎵 Music theory through interactive activities
🤝 Ensemble & listening skills
🌟 Performance & confidence-building

The program is designed for different age and experience levels, giving students the opportunity to learn piano in a supportive group environment while developing both individual musicianship and collaborative skills.

What an incredible day for HPSI’s Re-Wired String Ensemble!

Our New Horizons adult string musicians had the privilege of performing side-by-side with the outstanding musicians of the Chicago Philharmonic under the direction of Maestro Scott Speck.

This annual collaboration is one of the highlights of our season. It reminds us that music is for everyone—whether you’re returning to your instrument after many years or discovering the joy of ensemble playing later in life.

We are so proud of every Re-Wired musician for their dedication, courage, and artistry. Thank you to the Chicago Philharmonic for making this inspiring partnership possible. Here’s to many more years of making music together!

For 25 years, the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute has proudly participated in the Chicago Suzuki Institute at Northeastern Illinois University.

This summer was another reminder of what consistent, thoughtful preparation can accomplish. Our students—from our youngest beginners to our more advanced violinists represented HPSI with confidence, musicianship, and poise.

We were especially proud to see HPSI students selected for solo performances and thriving in classes alongside students from across the country. Their success reflects not only their hard work, but also the unwavering support of their families and teachers.

Congratulations to every HPSI student who participated. You represented our community beautifully, and we couldn’t be more proud.
