Center for Future Innovators Chicagoland nonprofit shaping future innovators with STEAM programs including LEGO Robotics!

We are a not-for-profit with a mission of preparing future innovators through our positive youth development programs. Our project-based learning programs in STEAM, healthy living and civic engagement are designed to build our next-generation kids with creativity, strong critical thinking, services, and leadership life skills. Our center operates career exploration, college planning, passion project, youth entrepreneurship, a variety of extra-curricular afternoon programs and workshops year-round.

Thank you to Kate, Becky, and Irene for supporting our soldering program at CFI Robotics!

We now have 4 soldering irons and 2 fume extractors! Our goal is 5 complete soldering stations so more students can learn and build electronics projects together.

The photo shows the supplies we’re still collecting. You can purchase from our Amazon wish list or another retailer and have items delivered to CFI. You’re also welcome to bring supplies directly to the center!

Thanks to your generosity, we've grown from 1 to 3 soldering stations! We're now just 2 stations away from our goal of 5, allowing more students to learn and work on hands-on electronics projects together.

Winter Camp registration is open at CFI Robotics!

Join us December 21–23 or December 28–30 for three days of hands-on robotics, building, coding, and creative challenges.

Grades 3–5
RoboSumo Winter Camp | $300

Grades 6–8
Robotics Lab | $350

Each week features different projects, so students can register for one week or both.

Hey Future Innovators!

A quick reminder that CFI Robotics will be closed this Saturday, October 10. Sunday, October 11, will be for scheduled team practices and Maker Studio only. No regular weekend classes this week.

🔵 Our next round of Fall Classes starts October 17 and 18!

We have classes for students in grades K–8, including LEGO Robotics, Competition Robotics, Arduino, 3D Design, Coding, Robo Sumo, and more!

🌳 Thank you to everyone who joined Brian and the Blue Island Forestry Board last night at the Blue Island Public Library!

We had a great time learning about the work underway to grow and protect Blue Island's urban forest with CFI's Brian Meadows, alongside Kate Perryman from The Morton Arboretum.

A special shoutout to CFI alumna Lana, who designed the sign we had wood-burned into a tree slab for the Blue Island Forestry Board!

We are proud of the work our CFI students and interns have contributed to the Blue Island Forestry Board over the years and look forward to continuing our efforts to make our communities greener! 🌱
