Marillac Saint Vincent's Early Education & Care program serves children from birth to age 5. Our model works with both children and their families, because parents and caregivers are a child's first teachers.

Our Power, Our Voice returns October 7 with this event's conversation: The Future We Want, an intergenerational luncheon centered on Youth Voice.

Robin Robinson moderates a conversation with adult panelists Dr. Jaylon Joyner (Christ the King Jesuit College Prep), DeKevious M. Wilson (Hope Chicago), Jermaine Lawrence Anderson (I Am A Gentleman), and Marquiesha Grant (Marillac Saint Vincent). Their conversation will be followed by a youth panel, where young people share what they're experiencing, what they wish adults understood, and what they hope for the future.

After more than 40 years of dedication, hard work, and countless memories, we celebrate Renell McAllister, Lead Child Care Assistance Eligibility Specialist in our Support Services Department, as she prepares to retire MSV.

Throughout her incredible journey across MSV locations, Renell has shared her knowledge, compassion, and commitment with countless children, families, and colleagues.
Thank you, Renell, for more than 40 years of faithful service and for the lasting impact you’ve made on MSV! Your dedication has helped shape our agency and will always be part of our story.

Before our staff can walk alongside Chicago families, they walk alongside each other first.
Last month, our Program & Services team kicked off the new program year at "Rooted and Rising: Rooted in Mission. Rising in Service." A full day of learning, connection, and collaboration across every program we run.

The day opened with a keynote and breakout session from Glodean Champion on "Communication Rooted in LOVE," a framework built on Listening, Open-mindedness, Vulnerability, and Empathy. It's a simple idea with a big impact: the way our staff communicate with each other shapes the way they show up for the families and communities we serve. Thank you, Glodean, for the engaging energy and powerful presentation.

Throughout the morning, graphic recording artist Katya Balakina brought the session to life through live drawing, capturing the messaging, energy, and activities in the room as a visual illustration in real time. Watching her translate the conversation into a living piece of art as it unfolded was one of the many highlights of the day.

We’re honored to have been recognized by Public Allies Chicago this year for the way Marillac Saint Vincent Family Services showed up for the Allies who showed up for us.
But the real celebration belongs to our four incredible Allies!

Over the past year, they brought their ideas, energy, and leadership to Youth & Family Development, Harvest Hub, Community Connections, and Advancement. Along the way, they created programs and resources that will continue making a difference at MSV long after their placements have ended.

They reopened our music studio and developed summer programming in songwriting, drumming, and social-emotional learning. They created a Food Rescue Toolkit and helped revive our community garden. They launched a multilingual Wellness Closet and a new senior wellness series. And they developed a storytelling campaign that brought voices from across MSV into the story of our mission.

We’re so grateful for everything they brought to our community and everything they leave behind.

To our graduating Allies, thank you for your creativity, your leadership, and the care you brought to MSV. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
And thank you to Public Allies Chicago for your partnership and for investing in the next generation of community leaders.
