💛 Today is Yellow Day, often called the happiest day of the year.

So here's a reminder:

You don't have to be struggling to go to therapy.
You don't need to wait until you're overwhelmed.
You don't need to wait until things get worse.

And you don't need a crisis to ask for support.

Sometimes therapy is simply about learning more about yourself and creating a healthier future.

And that's a pretty good reason to start. 🙂

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you don't know what to expect.
The good news? You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out.

At Pilsen Wellness Center, the first step is simply having a conversation. We'll take the time to learn about your needs, answer your questions, and help connect you with the support that's right for you.

Have a question you'd like us to answer in a future post? Leave it in the comments below. 💙

Not all trauma responses look the way people expect.

Sometimes they look like overthinking.
Sometimes they look like expecting bad news before it happens.
Sometimes they look like feeling drained after spending time with others.
Sometimes they look like needing to know exactly what's going to happen next.

These reactions are often misunderstood as personality traits, but they can be ways your mind and body learned to protect you after difficult experiences.

Understanding trauma doesn't change what happened, but it can help us approach ourselves and others with more compassion.

💚 Healing is possible, and support is available.

Have you ever learned that something you thought was "just part of your personality" was actually connected to a life experience?

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the lasting effects that trauma can have on mental health.

PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms may include anxiety, difficulty sleeping, intrusive thoughts, emotional numbness, or feeling constantly on edge.

By talking openly about trauma, PTSD, and mental health, we can help reduce stigma and encourage people to seek support when they need it.

Healing is possible, and help is available.

Maybe later...

Maybe when work slows down.
Maybe when things calm down.
Maybe when life feels less overwhelming.

The problem is that "later" has a way of turning into months… sometimes even years.

A lot of people don't avoid therapy because they don't care about their mental health. They put it off because they think they should be able to figure everything out on their own.

But support isn't something you have to earn. And you don't have to wait until you're at your breaking point to ask for it.

Does it sound familiar? We're here when you're ready. 💚

Happy Día del Niño! 👧🍭🧒

We had a wonderful time this Saturday at the Día del Niño Festival at Harrison Park!

A heartfelt thank you to the National Museum of Mexican Art for inviting us to be part of this special celebration and giving us the opportunity to share our services and resources with the community we proudly serve.

We also want to thank all the families and children who stopped by our booth, spun the prize wheel, enjoyed some treats, and learned more about Pilsen Wellness Center.

At Pilsen Wellness Center, we remain committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our community, today and every day.

Thank you for celebrating with us, we loved connecting with so many amazing families and look forward to seeing you again soon! 😊

Your mental health matters too.

Sometimes we get so used to taking care of everyone else that we forget to check in with ourselves.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, let this be your reminder that your wellbeing matters, your emotions matter, and asking for support is okay. 💚

Mental health care should be accessible.

Support should not feel confusing, overwhelming, or something people are afraid to seek because of judgment or stigma.

You don’t have to wait until things get worse to ask for help.

At PWC, we believe everyone deserves compassionate care that feels safe, human, and welcoming. 💚

If this message resonates with you, share it with someone who may need the reminder today.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚

A reminder we all need: mental health is health.

Taking care of your emotional well-being is just as important as caring for your physical health. Stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, and overwhelm deserve attention too.

This month, let’s help break the stigma, start more conversations, and remind each other that asking for help is okay.

You are not alone. Support is available.
