Panda is a large Akita with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. Once he trusts you, you become his favorite person—and he’ll be happiest by your side.

Panda can be slow to trust in new environments, so he needs a patient person who understands him, respects his boundaries, and won’t rush the relationship. With time and trust, Panda has so much love to give.

He walks well on leash and is both potty trained and crate trained, Panda will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace. If you’re looking for a devoted Akita who will form a special bond with you, apply to meet Panda

Why is Ricky still waiting???
We can’t think of a single reason why.
This boy is amazing.

Ricky is still taking applications for his forever home. Get yours in now

🐾 Ricky’s Second Chance 💛

He was found limping along the I-94 freeway… emaciated, covered in burrs, and clearly failed by people.

But you’d never know it by meeting him.

Ricky loves everyone. Every single person he meets, he greets with nothing but kindness. No fear, no anger—just a gentle, grateful soul who’s ready to love his family completely.

✨ Ricky’s journey:
• Finished heartworm treatment
• Recovered from hip surgery
• Recovered from TPLO knee surgery

He’s been through so much—and he’s come out the other side ready for his happy ending.

💛 Why Ricky is so special:
• Extremely loving and people-focused
• Adores kids
• Very calm temperament
• Could likely live with a calm female dog
• Even loves going to the groomer 🛁

Right now, Ricky is healthy, healed, and waiting… but still doesn’t have a home to call his own.

After everything he’s survived, he deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a couch, a family, and a life filled with love.

Today the shelter and rescue world is experiencing a crisis that I only pray we survive to help more four paws. So many in our society today seem to act on impulse without investigating or researching the purchases they are acquiring. The result when these acquired items are members of our animal kingdom and the novelty of what they have diminished, the items are relinquished to shelters or rescue groups who are now struggling to keep up with the demand. We are quick to blame the shelters for euthanizing animals due to capacity limits and rescue groups for not commiting to taking the animals into their care. Unfortunately there is a limit to how many can be helped due to space and funds and both shelters and rescue groups are at their capacities both physically and emotionally. as you cannot care and love animals and not feel the effects of the numbers that are not being helped,

What is the answer? How about researching breed information prior to purchasing from good legitimate breeders or your local shelters and rescue breed groups.....or if you know your limitations and follow them foster an animal......or donate your time or funds to shelters and rescues groups that are trying to survive. They.....WE.....need your help for the four paws.

Just an update on our girl Dallas. Her surgery to remove her eyes was a success.

It was confirmed by the Biopsy report that she does in fact have Uveodermatologic Syndrome.

Unfortunately there is no cure just treatment that keeps the symptoms at bay. While we wish we could have saved her eyesight the disease had progressed too far to do so.

Dallas says. Who needs eyes, I see with my heart.

Dallas will be on meds for the remainder of her life. They have her on prednisone so far but will probably switch to cyclosporine in the future witch is more expensive.

We are very lucky that Dallas has an amazing foster who has opened up her heart and home to her.

We certainly wish we had more fosters.

Uveodermatologic syndrome (UDS) is a rare autoimmune disease where a dog's immune system attacks its own pigment-producing cells (melanocytes). It causes severe eye inflammation—often leading to blindness—along with whitening of the skin and hair. It closely resembles Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome in humans

Common Symptoms
Eye signs (usually appear first): Painful, red eyes, severe uveitis, light sensitivity, squinting, and cloudy corneas. Can rapidly cause retinal detachment or glaucoma.

Skin and hair signs (follow later): Whitening of the hair (poliosis) and loss of skin pigment (vitiligo), especially on the nose, lips, eyelids, footpads, and sc***um

Treatment and Management

Aggressive immune suppression: High-dose oral corticosteroids (like prednisone) and topical eye drops.Long-term medications: Additional immunosuppressive drugs like azathioprine or cyclosporine are often required for life.

Prognosis:

Requires immediate veterinary and veterinary ophthalmologist care. Early treatment gives a fair chance to save vision, but delayed care frequently leads to permanent blindness or the need for surgical eye removal for comfort.

We open up our heart to help as many Akitas as we physically and financially can.

Most of our dogs are in boarding kennels and we pay for their kennels. Each kennel is $30 a day times 15 dogs. Plus over $500 a month to feed the dogs. Not to mention prevention and vet care ❤️❤️

Without funds we cannot help more dogs like Dallas .
If you can find it in your heart to donate we would be forever grateful.
