Give a big welcome to this gorgeous boy Moose

Are you a fan of big dogs with even bigger personalities? Do brindle coats make your heart skip a beat?
Then allow us to introduce Moose - because yes, he absolutely lives up to his name.
Moose is a handsome 80 pound boy 2 1/2 year-old neutered male Akita who turns heads wherever he goes. This big guy loves his adventures and would be thrilled to have a human hiking buddy by his side. Trails fresh air and exploring the world? Count Moose in.
 When playtime rolls around in the yard, don’t be surprised if he breaks into full on Zumiez watching this 80 pound dog tear around with pure joy is both hilarious and heart melting. Moose is also a fan of the finer things in life, like a good back, scratch and plenty of pets. ( he’ll happily lean in for extras.).

 if you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, goofy companion with a whole Lotta love (and zoomies) to give, moose just might be the perfect match for you.

Welcome to the new kid on the block
DaKoda AKA Koda
He comes to us as an owner surrender to a shelter in the Chicago area. They asked for help and we were lucky enough to have an open foster and she said of course.
We don’t know much about him so far as we just came to us.

More to come after we get to know him and he decompresses for awhile.

What we do know

✅UTD on vaccinations
✅chipped
✅on prevention
✅has lived with a female dog
✅crate trained
✅house broke

he may be able to live with a female dog with proper introduction.

He’s super sweet and very friendly

Winter shirt and hoodies fundraiser for MARS orphans.

There are 2 long sleeve shirts and a sweatshirt and 2 hoodies and a tea shirt.

Thank you Carla and Mike for traveling from Massachusetts to Michigan to adopt her.

We think they all hit the jackpot! ❤️❤️

Its MARS calendar time! Send in your photos to have your Akita included in MARS 2027 calendar. Please submit all photos via EMAIL to: [email protected]. Deadline to submit photos is October 31st.

The rules are as follows:
-All pics must be digital, JPEG format, high resolution preferred. (Most smartphone pics are JPEG already if you're not techie)
-Please limit your submissions to 10 per household.
-Please provide a name or caption for each picture including (left to right) names of dogs/other critters and owner. This helps when we create the directory of pics.
-Please state whether we may also use your pictures in Facebook.

These are my FAVORITE mornings! ❤️ 50°, snuggled in a blanket on the deck with coffee, just me and my girl before the boys wake up. This morning, Teeter is showing the dinosaur who’s boss!🦖

And can we talk about my gorgeous cherry-red Akita mug? 😍 The pictures honestly don’t do it justice. The etched Akita design is stunning, and that deep metallic red is even prettier in person. I snagged mine in last year’s MARS auction and there are some beautiful etched mugs and glasses and more, available this year!

Which brings me to my not-so-subtle reminder: the Midwest Akita Rescue Society (MARS) Fall Auction ends TODAY at 2pm (Central Time)! So if you’ve been watching something, now is the time to bid!

Why is Rebel still with us? She is perfect.

Rebel is growing up in a foster home. While she does love her foster family we would like to see her in a permanent home.

She is the perfect mix of naughty and nice ❤️

She’s been in puppy classes for awhile now and is top on her class.

Frankie is lucky enough to have a 2 legged sister that simply adores him and helped him through his journey at the kennel. Thank you!!
