Blues Fest in the sweetest home there is 🎶 🎷 Last week The People's Music School took the stage at Chicago Blues Fest as part of the Next Generation of Blues. They performed some fan favorites - from Soul Bossa Nova to Sweet Home Chicago 🏙️ It was especially "sweet" to have some TPMS alumni supporting the ensemble (shoutout Osbeida, Emely, and Melvin! 👏 ) Rain or shine, TPMS brought incredible energy and musicianship to the stage. What an incredible way to close out the school year 🎉 Our Performapaloozathon concert series featured 80+ performances by 60+ different ensembles. Students took the stage to showcase their growth and hard work with family, friends, and community members. We're especially grateful to North Park University , South Shore Cultural Center Advisory Council Àkójọpọ̀ Music Foundation, and Crossing Borders Music for making these performances possible. Here's to a fantastic school year and musical summer! ☀🎵

🎓 Congratulations to The People's Music School's Class of 2026! These students have embodied our core values - Excellence, Creativity, Community, Hard Work, and Opportunity - throughout their time at People's. They've spent a combined 147 years here, with some having been students with us for a decade. It's safe to say this is an especially bittersweet farewell 🥲 We are so proud of all that these students have accomplished, and we wish them the best on their post-secondary journeys.

We can't wait to see the People’s community at Uptown Academy / SLAM’s Performapaloozathon at North Park University tomorrow! 🎼☀️

Parking: Guests may park in North Park University lots along W Kedzie Ave up to N Foster Ave. Guests may also park in the lot on Kimball and Foster (south of the Shell gas station).

Performances: Concerts will take place in Hamming Hall. Please enter Hamming Hall via the entrance on Foster Ave.

Huge shoutout to our Albany Park students, families, faculty, and team for a fantastic Performapaloozathon concert this week 🎶☀️ The combined Transform Symphony Orchestra brought the house down with Bizet's Farandole - such an exciting end to the program!

🎼 Wednesday, May 27 @ 6:30pm: Back of the Yards Open House (In-Person)

The People’s Music School offers high quality, after-school tuition-free music education to school aged children in Chicago who would otherwise would face financial barriers to access.

Attending an open house is REQUIRED in order to register for the fall semester! No registration is necessary to attend an open house. Learn more at peoplesmusicschool.org/registration.
