We aim to have 250 good news reports to reflect on 250 years of American history with the American250 program: https://america250.org/. These stories exemplify how individuals, communities, and nations are taking actionable steps towards sustainability and positive change, aligning with ICA’s mission of nurturing a better future.
Here are some uplifting stories we would like to share with you:
1. The Cocoa School of Journalism and Creative Arts, founded by Serlina Boyd, empowers children as young as five to engage in journalism, with their work featured in the UK's first Black children's magazines, Cocoa Girl and Cocoa Boy. 2. Maureen Stanko, concerned about her son's future after graduation, opened a cafe employing primarily people with disabilities and creating a safe dining space for them.
