Child Passenger Safety Technician and Founder of Abrazo Seguro Karla Barrios and nationally recognized CPST Instructor Heidi Heflin will present the keynote, "Saving Young Lives on the Road: The Vital Role, Pathways, and Impact of U.S. CPST Training in LMICs." This presentation will examine why many child safety advocates travel to the U.S. to become CPSTs despite substantial barriers, while underscoring the importance of CPSTs to advancing safety in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

We look forward to the Motorcycle Safety Special Interest Group Session, where internationally recognized biomechanical engineer, educator, and road-safety leader John Bolte will present, “Motorcycle Safety - Biomechanics and Injury Analysis." This presentation will highlight recent research on how powered two-wheeler (PTW) injuries occur, how to improve PTW crash testing, and how to design effective mitigation strategies to reduce serious injuries and fatalities.
