The BAN FamILLy put work in at the Greater Chicago Food Depository last weekend to help fight hunger in our community. Every box packed and every volunteer hour shared represents our commitment to making a difference beyond campus.

Our Annual Summer Social & Legacy Pinning Ceremony brought together Black Alumni, UIUC Staff, and some of our newest Black Illini for an afternoon filled with great conversations, new connections, and words of wisdom.

One of the best parts of our BAN community is being able to reach back, guiding the next generation, and remind our incoming students that they don’t have to navigate their Illinois journey alone; they already have a village cheering them on! 🙌🏾

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. We loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and continuing to build the Black Illini legacy together!

Do you know a student who was recently admitted to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign? Help us give them a warm Illini welcome by sharing this invitation and encouraging them to join us for the Annual Summer Social & Legacy Pinning Ceremony!

This special event is designed to connect newly admitted students with our incredible Black alumni community and University faculty by helping them build relationships, gain valuable insights, and begin their Illinois journey with a strong support network.

We also invite our alumni to attend, reconnect with fellow Illini, share your experiences, and help inspire the next generation of students.
