THE WOMAN BEFORE THE LEADER đź’•
Last night, we kicked off our monthly Mentor Development series at InspireHer Chicago and whew, the work we’re doing with our mentors is just as important as the work we’re doing with our girls!
We spent the evening looking inward, having honest conversations about self-awareness, leadership, emotional maturity, and the difference between our intentions and the impact we have on others.
One of the biggest takeaways was this: You cannot lead beyond your own awareness.
We challenged ourselves to examine how others experience us, recognize the shadows of our strengths, become curious instead of defensive, and understand how our own unresolved experiences can influence the way we lead.
Because the girls we mentor won’t just learn from what we teach them. They’ll learn from who we are, how we communicate, how we handle conflict, how we love, and how we show up.
And before we ask God to develop what we do, we have to be willing to let Him develop who we are.
At InspireHer Chicago, we’re not just building a mentorship program. We’re cultivating a community of women who are committed to becoming better while helping the next generation do the same.
Healthy women help raise healthy girls, and that work begins with us. đź’•
