"My biggest piece of advice to next year's interns is to stay organized, communicate clearly, and not be afraid to reach out to volunteers. Take every opportunity to learn something new, even if it seems challenging. The more effort you put into the experience, the more you'll get out of it."

Meet Dillon, one of our 2026 Summer Interns at !

Throughout the summer, our interns have gained firsthand experience in community engagement while supporting our mission to empower Chicago students.

When asked, "What surprised you most about community engagement work?" Dillon shared:

"What surprised me most with working with Tutoring Chicago was how friendly and helpful my coworkers and bosses were to me. I was also surprised by how much we get to help people and do good things in general. It was amazing meeting so many people, including the team from Old National Bank, who were incredibly kind, caring, and welcoming."

We're so glad Dillon has had the opportunity to experience the impact of community partnerships and the people who make Tutoring Chicago's mission possible. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Tutoring Chicago Summer Social at Barcocina! It was great to spend time with our incredible tutors, volunteers, supporters and staff while preparing for another year of making a difference for Chicago students.

From meaningful conversations and new connections to plenty of laughs, the evening was a great reminder that is at the heart of everything we do.

We're grateful to everyone who came out and helped make the event such a success. We can't wait to see you again in September! 🌟

Join us as a volunteer tutor for the 2026-27 school year!

Tutoring Chicago is the largest one-to-one after school tutoring program in the Chicagoland area. Our pairs meet once a week for 90 minutes during the school year and no experience or special skills are required. Community is at the heart of everything we do. 💙

Recently, the Interns joined Old National Bank employees, and staff from Chicago's 46th Ward for the Old National Bank Community Day Event in Uptown. Together, we helped create a welcoming space where unhoused neighbors could enjoy a warm meal, access essential resources, and experience meaningful human connection.

We're grateful to our community partners for making events like this possible and for helping us strengthen the communities we serve. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and compassion!
