PCC advances solutions that address historic inequities in our higher education system.

Partnership for College Completion is a new nonprofit organization launched to catalyze and champion policies, systems and practices that ensure all students in and around Chicago - particularly low-income, first-generation students - graduate from college and achieve their career aspirations. Launching this regional organization is the culmination of a two-year planning process that was led by Forefront’s College and Career Access, Persistence and Success (CCAPS) group and involved hundreds of stakeholders from across Chicago, the region and the nation.

Last week, PCC hosted its first of two 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗘𝗔) Convenings at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill. Our team members, Dr. Kyle Southern, Rebecca Popelka, Cesar Perez, and Giselle Palacios, presented on current implementation within the state and its impact on student success in Southern Illinois' community colleges.

Transfer student-specific issues disproportionately impact students of color, including 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘅 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. As we continue , PCC has identified ways to support transfer student success. 🌟

Last week, PCC Executive Director Dr. Kyle Southern and Development Director Daisy Copeland participated in the in San Diego, hosted by our colleagues at EdTrust-West. Kyle and Daisy engaged in a week of networking, learning, and drawing inspiration from each session on how to improve the experience for Illinois students of all backgrounds.

Pictured alongside is EdTrust-West Executive Director, Dr. Christopher J. Nellum. The PCC team were inspired by Dr. Nellum’s session, “Advocacy Works: How Change Actually Happens,” which brought to light the need for collective and action to create lasting change throughout postsecondary education systems and increase student success.

Seven members of Team PCC joined policymakers, leaders, and community members at the Illcf - Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation's 2026 Raíces Summit. Speakers from across Illinois addressed issues shaping Latino communities in our state, including access to and investment in to advance Latino student success. Roundtable discussions connected us with fellow advocates and strengthened the network working toward systems-level change in Illinois.
