A wonderful evening at Why We Gather, hosted by our friends at Steppenwolf Associates and featuring leaders from across Chicago’s arts and philanthropy communities.

One theme that resonated throughout the conversation was the importance of invitation—how creating a sense of belonging starts with intentionally welcoming people into our cultural spaces and communities.

A special thank you to Alyssa Greenberg for representing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and sharing her insights on audience engagement. And thank you to Abby and Kirstie for representing the Overture Council and helping make the evening possible.

An evening of music, collaboration, and community ✨

The Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Ryan Opera Center came together for a night of opera arias, scenes, and orchestral favorites. From powerful vocals to lush orchestral moments, the program was full of highlights.

And the best kind of encore: pizza, desserts, w**e, and b**r shared together after the performance.

A beautiful reminder of what happens when artists come together and let the music lead.
