Who We Are
Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is a Chicagoland 501c3 animal rescue We have been established since 2012. We focus on those animals that are often bypassed in the shelters due to age, medical or special needs. We work with many paralyzed dogs and successfully get many mobile. For those we don’t get walking we provide wheelchairs and other aids. Ultimately, once we complete all medical care
we look to find permanent homes for these animals. We also work to educate people to prevent relinquishing their pets with emphasis on medical options often not offered to them. Our goal is to reduce euthanasia and give support to the overlooked . Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is a 501c3 volunteer only Charitable Organization dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters and education to prevent euthanisia . Our mission statement is: "We Value All Lives". We rely on donations to help care for the animals. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . Many of the dogs and cats we take in are special needs animals. We work with many paralyzed and other neurological animals, seniors and special needs. We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes. The majority of animals we work to rescue are from Chicago Care and Animal Control, CACC, in Chicago. Adopting A Friend
To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.
