BREAKING: ATF backs down on mandatory NFA registration.

Effective today, ATF says it will no longer require federal approval or registration before Americans make or transfer suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, or AOWs.

That policy applies to everyone, not just members or customers covered by the court’s injunction.

This is a major win for gun owners. But read the details: state restrictions still apply, ordinary federal fi***rm laws remain, and SBRs and SBSs still require ATF authorization for interstate transport.

This is an enforcement policy, not a repeal of the NFA. Congress needs to finish the job.
