See Change founder Erik Bouchard is a Chesterton grad who quit his high-paying international banking career in 2011 to move to Nepal to create a foundation to help children receive an education, medical care, have clean water and food, and to build orphanages. In light of the recent disaster in Nepal, the work of the See Change Foundation is even more critical. As more news becomes available, the well-being of many of the nation’s children will need to depend on the foundation’s services. The Chesterton-Porter Rotary club has announced that it will host an annual all-day music and vendor event, Babapaloosa, to benefit the See Change Foundation. “While the plans were already in the works for the benefit, it seems much more important than ever to help See Change,” said Rotarian Trent Albert, Chair for the Babapaloosa event, which is scheduled for Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, located at the corner of US 6 and Meridian Rd. Babapoloosa originated from an annual charity ride organized by Gary Bouchard, Erik Bouchard’s father, to benefit the See Change Foundation. The Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club has been involved in this event as a sponsor for the last few years. The Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club was founded in April 1960, and is proudly celebrating its 55th year with the mission of continuing to be a diverse and passionate service organization made up of community-focused and globally concerned individuals. The Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club is one of 55 clubs in District 6540 of Rotary International. The Club meets each Tuesday at the Westchester Library Service Center in Chesterton.
