Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, Inc. Girl Scouting is open to all girls in grades K-12 who accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Annual membership for girls K-12 $40, for adults $25.

GSCSNJ provides programs for New Jersey girls who live in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex and Salem counties and parts of Monmouth County. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their leadership potential through activities that enable them to discover their values, skills, and the world around them; connect with others in a multicultural environment; a

nd take action to make a difference in the world. GSCSNJ serves girls regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, economic status or disability. Girl Scout Daisy K-grade 1

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouts - we are continuing to share the work of our Girls even though the ceremony has passed as we would like to recognize the hard work they've done and the amazing projects they've created.

This Spotlight Story is focused on Jacey C. of Troop 26051

Jacey C.'s Gold Award project reflects her deep awareness of the growing issue of student anxiety, particularly among younger children. Through conversations with educators and experts, she came to understand that many students experience anxiety in school, often driven by fears of being judged, rejected, or making mistakes. Recognizing that students are not always given the reassurance or tools they need to navigate these feelings, Jacey developed resources centered on positive self-talk and affirmations tailored to individual classroom environments. She designed and installed affirmation-based murals that serve as consistent, visible reminders for students, encouraging resilience and fostering a more positive mindset. To extend her impact beyond a single school, she also created free affirmation coloring pages. She shared them on her Teachers Pay Teachers store, providing educators and families with accessible tools to reinforce these messages.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouts - we are continuing to share the work of our Girls even though the ceremony has passed as we would like to recognize the hard work they've done and the amazing projects they've created.

This Spotlight Story is focused on Ish*ta P. of Troop 72881!

For her Gold Award project, Ish*ta worked to address the educational barriers faced by children living with chronic medical conditions, particularly diabetes, in underserved communities in India. Recognizing that many of these children lack consistent access to education due to health challenges and financial limitations, she created a supportive learning environment focused on teaching English and building confidence.
Through mentorship and personalized instruction, she created both academic growth and meaningful relationships, helping students see that their medical conditions do not define their potential. Her project not only provided educational support but also raised awareness about the need for more inclusive resources and systems for children managing chronic illnesses.
