Jizo-an Zen Community We are a diverse community of people wishing to experience authentic spiritual training.

Our mission is to provide an inclusive, peaceful and sacred Community for contemplation, meditation, mindfulness and Zen Training for the cultivation of a deeper spirituality. Jizo-an Zen Community (formerly Pine Wind Zen Community, The Order of the Great Lights, The Zen Society) was founded in 1985 and guided by Seijaku Roshi until his death in June of 2021. We offer both traditional and innovative ways to engage authentic spirituality through our public events. We are inspired by contemplative traditions including the teachings of the Buddhadharma, the mystical Torah, and the Gospels. We hope to live and share the Dharma (Teachings) of loving-kindness and compassion as conveyed to us by our founder and other teachers, offering the world new forms of kinship and love.

Whether you come for a Wednesday evening program, an online meditation, or a Saturday event, you will have the opportunity to experience an inclusive-dynamic-integrated spiritual community and a place to encounter your own inner silence, wisdom, and compassion.

When struck, the gong produces a sound that reverberates through the air, spreading outward infinitely, just as the concept of emptiness encompasses everything. The sound is fleeting but profound. The gong’s reverberation invites practitioners to reflect on the nature of impermanence and to embrace the present moment fully.

As the Harvest Moon reaches full illumination, Moon Festivals begin in communities throughout the world. A time of reflection and gratitude for the bounties we have received. What will you bring with you into the darker months ahead? Will one thing be your meditation practice?

You yourself, as much as anyone in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ❤️- Buddha
