This is a HAIL MARY request for a very special dog named Houdini!!! Houdini is a dog that we trapped 10 MONTHS ago. He has been in the shelter that long. What is wrong with him you ask? He is an extreme flight risk!!! PLEASE DON'T LET HIM DIE!! I will outline what he needs!!

1. Someone with EXPERIENCE with flight risk dogs.
2. Someone with a 6 foot high privacy fence.
3. Someone with EXPERIENCE with flight risk dogs.
4. We will say no children but that's only because they do stupid things like leave a door or gate open NOT because Houdini is mean to kids.
5. Someone with patience, love and understanding. Houdini needs time to settle and his mind needs time to settle and decompress!

Houdini gets along with other dog and children. He will need time to decompress and an adopter/rescue who has the experience to know how to do that. If you are willing to give Houdini a chance, please comment below or message me privately!! He is currently located at the Burlington County Animal Shelter!! AGAIN, this is a HAIL MARY post!! His time is up!!

This Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., join Bailey’s Bridge to Home Rescue and Recovery at the Animal Welfare Association’s Paws & Feet 5k Run/Walk & Doggie Fun Day at Cooper River Park. In addition to Bailey’s branded t-shirts, tank tops, magnets, hats, doggie bandanas and homemade doggie treats, we’ll have hot-off-the-press copies of our new children’s book, “Hamlin’s Bridge to Home,” and we’ll also be taking orders. Best of all, you can hear the book read aloud during a storytime hour. Stop by our booth to find out where and when.

Just catching up on May stories from Bailey's Bridge To Home Rescue & Recovery. On May 5, 2026 we were contacted about a dog named Tubbie who had slipped his collar at a rest stop on the NJ Turnpike.

I touched base with Mike Hensley, an amazing drone pilot who lives close by to the area and we decided to head there and do our best to trap him. Happy to report that we set the trap and within 5 minutes, Tubbie was trapped and safe. Sometimes things work in our favor and this was one of those times.

A little update on Maci girl! Maci has finished her heartworm treatment. We are so thankful to Burlington County Animal Shelter for making sure Maci had this treatment. She is amazing. She loves everyone and fits in like no other. We have had her now for almost 4 months. She will be tested for heartworm in the coming week. Pray for her to be negative! We love her so much! ❤️❤️

On April 14, 2026, after being lost for two weeks Sunny from Cherry Hill, NJ was safely captured!

Sunny is only 6 pounds and 9 months old yet he is so smart. He navigated Route 38, route 70 and Haddonfield Road. Of course he made us nervous wrecks! Sunny kept coming to a particular home so with the permissions of the homeowner, we placed food and a trap there. Sunny would show up, never step on the trip plate, and leave. This was beyond frustrating to watch on the camera. Then, on one unsuspecting morning, Sunny was in!!! He did it! He was caught!!

We can never forget all of the people who made this possible. We can't thank the residents of Cherry Hill who reported sightings and kept a close eye out for Sunny. You are all truly amazing! Many, many thanks to the homeowner who allowed us to basically take over their property! And of course we can never do what we do without Mike Hensley, who is an amazing drone pilot! His expertise is priceless!

Sunny's owners were elated to have their boy home. They were ready for him and he is now wearing an Apple airtag, the correct collar and harness and he is double leashed at all times! They are now aware that Sunny is a runner and it's way too dangerous for him out there!
