Foraging is a way to remember where we come from. It’s a physical, mental, and spiritual reset.

If you missed this releass with Mo (Monica) Wilde, you can read (or listen 🎧 ) to the full piece through the link in Institute of Natural Law’s bio.

A Quick Note on Safe Foraging:
Never eat anything unless you are 100% certain of its identity. Use a trusted field guide, learn to forage with an expert, and remember the golden rule: When in doubt, leave it out! Always harvest from clean, chemical-free areas, and leave enough behind for wildlife to thrive.

Imagine stepping outside into a backyard that actively heals our planet, and feeds your family. Not a dream… it’s permaculture 🌎🌀🍃

We’re very excited to be sharing our first Discovery Course in partnership with Earth Activist Training—an Intro to Permaculture this July!

We designed these short, high-impact courses specifically for beginners who want to shift from being consumers to producers, or at least start that journey.

How it works: We’ll gather for 4 live weekly sessions over the course of one month, giving you real-time guidance, a community of fellow learners, and plenty of space to ask questions.

You’ll walk away with a new lens for looking at the world and hopefully a desire to dive deeper into the world of permaculture and living systems.

Ready to ground yourself and create a more resilient future for yourself, your family, and your community?

The Assembly of Generational Wisdom are inviting you to their first public gathering, this Saturday, June 6th.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵’𝘀 𝗥𝗵𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗺: 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱

Our world is speaking loudly through the environmental shifts and social upheavals we see every day, and it is natural to feel a deep ache and worry for the communities and landscapes we see struggling.

This AGW gathering is an invitation to find our footing. We are not stepping back to escape this reality, but rather looking to global, seasonal, and cosmic timing to find the grounded strength we need to face it. It is a ‘yes and’ moment: yes, we hold space for the big picture, and we use that alignment to fuel the urgent, hands-on care needed today.

We do not live separate from the world; we are nature—interconnected, interdependent, and bound to each other’s fate.

Join us to honor the truth of our changing times, steady ourselves in its enduring rhythms, and awaken a fierce commitment to protect, tend, and show up for the sacred ecosystems and communities outside our doors, and within ourselves.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗚𝗪
The Assembly of Generational Wisdom (AGW) is a living network of elders, wisdom keepers, spiritual mentors and conscious leaders. Their distinct knowledge systems, wisdom of lived experience, and the teachings they carry rebuild and support correct relationship with Earth, serving one and all through awakening collective remembering, conscious embodiment, and intentional action.

RSVP via the link in ’s bio. We look forward to seeing you all 🤍

This is a free event. You will need to 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙞𝙣 or 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 to attend.

Cultural Warning: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that the following post contains the name and image of a deceased person.

Eddie Koiki Mabo (1936–1992) changed the course of Australian history when his case successfully overturned the doctrine of terra nullius—the legal myth that Australia was a “land belonging to no one” before British colonization.

On June 3, 1992, the High Court ruled in his favor, recognizing that Indigenous people had a rightful, legal connection to land predating European settlement. This led directly to the Native Title Act 1993, deleting a 200-year-old legal fiction.

It forced the legal system to acknowledge Indigenous history, laws, and customs as legitimate and continuous. Before Mabo, Indigenous Australians legally owned 0% of Australia. Today, they hold recognized legal rights over around 50% of the continent.

While this land is mostly regional and remote, it fundamentally changed how Australia works economically:

• The Power to Negotiate: Mining companies, developers, and governments can no longer just roll in. They are legally required to negotiate Land Use Agreements, pay royalties, and protect sacred sites.
• Economic Leverage: Native Title gave Indigenous communities an asset to build corporations, fund local healthcare and education, and create jobs.

Eddie Mabo altered the law, the economy, and the map of Australia forever. Decades after that historic High Court ruling, his legacy remains a cornerstone for Indigenous self-determination and land justice worldwide.

Science spent decades building a language for something many land-connected traditions have long practiced.

Nothing exists apart from everything else. The intelligence of the whole is the original knowledge.

Those building this language across the 20th century were a mathematician noticing feedback loops, a biologist who said mind lives in ecosystems, and a farmer in Vermont who insisted that systems thinking without love is just another way to control.

The term “systems thinking” was actually coined in 1987 in the world of computer simulation and engineering. Within a few years it had moved into business and organizational management. And then it kept traveling, finding its way into the fields where its underlying ideas had always belonged.

Systems thinking is now foundational to regenerative design, permaculture, biomimicry, and ecological economics. To bioregionalism, food sovereignty, and Rights of Nature movements. To indigenous land stewardship, watershed governance, and agroecology. To climate adaptation, restorative practices, place-based education, and integral ecology. And many more in the wider Nature movement.

One of the most extraordinarily engineered beings on this planet. Owls have feathers that silence flight. A facial disc that functions as a parabolic dish, locating prey by sound alone—in total darkness, under snow. Eyes that gather light in conditions 100 times dimmer than humans can perceive, fixed in the skull, so they evolved a head that rotates 270 degrees instead. And talons that kill on contact.

A single barn owl (found on every continent except Antarctica) eats up to 3,000 small mammals a year. Part of an intricate web of predators that has kept ecosystems in balance. Owls, hawks, eagles, falcons—any bird that hunts small mammals plays this role. Alongside foxes, coyotes, mountain lions.

However these incredible beings in one of nature’s many web are greatly affected by poisons placed their food chain (SGARs or second-generation rat poisons). A poisoned rat, still alive, keeps feeding for days, accumulating a lethal dose in its body. Every predator that eats it absorbs the poison. Owls, hawks, foxes, mountain lions.

There are developing restrictions globally on these poisons that have moved through our birds of prey populations. And with the restrictions, we are allowing our interconnected nature to recover.

As of 2026:
California leads the US with the strongest restrictions on SGARs in the country. South Carolina and Connecticut have restricted them to licensed applicators only. Massachusetts and Rhode Island have active bills pushing toward fuller restrictions. But even where restrictions exist, licensed pest controllers can still use them freely.

“We enter the wilderness to remember who they truly are. In solitude and silence, with the land as mirror and guide, answers arise that no book or teacher can give.”

On behalf of our Assembly of Generational Wisdom member Monica (Mo) Wide, we are excited to share two upcoming opportunities to step into the wild, in community, listening and learning together 🌿

If you’re in Europe this June/July, or have the capacity to visit, this is a rare opportunity to study firsthand with a master ethnobotanist, research herbalist, and award-winning author. Mo’s deep, lifelong wisdom on wild food and medicine makes this a truly transformative experience.

We thought you might like to know, this song “Gathan-grèin” is Gaelic for “sunbeams” or “sun rays.” It’s an instrumental piece by musicians Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach, inspired by the sun shining off the Scottish coast.
