We made the news, but the real story is what our patients face every single day. Recently, Becca Andrews captured the harsh reality of the clinic sidewalks in her piece for Mother Jones, “Inside the Latest, and Scariest, Iteration of America’s Endless Abortion Wars.” The excerpt in our next slide is tough to read, but it perfectly illustrates exactly why we are out here.
When the harassment gets loud, we get louder with our support. When they try to shame, we open our rainbow umbrellas and shield our patients from the cruelty. We are the buffer between a patient’s private healthcare decision and those who wish to strip that right away.
