The Ivey is a Charlotte, NC not-for-profit organization devoted to brain health and memory wellness. Care coordination provided by our Certified Care Managers.

Optimizing Brain Health and Memory Wellness in Charlotte since 2008. Our Mission: The Ivey is a Charlotte, NC-based not-for-profit organization devoted to serving individuals living with early memory or cognition concerns and their caregivers through programs designed to optimize brain health for aging well, promote memory wellness, and provide respite and education for the whole family as well as the entire Charlotte community.

3 Convenient Brain Health Solutions:
Brain Health Workshops – For those who want to build brain-healthy routines, increase knowledge base, keep the brain sharp, and age well. Respite Club – For individuals who are early in their journey of memory loss and cognitive decline, while independent in ADL’s. Caregiver Resources – For caregivers throughout the memory loss journey.

The Ivey has proudly partnered with many local college and universities to provide a place for students to get hands-on experience during their course of studies. We welcome OTA interns from CPCC, Gerontology interns from UNC Charlotte, Music Therapy interns from Queens University and Residents from Atrium Health during their gerontology rotation. Not only is this a wonderful place to learn and gain experience for the interns, but our members love getting to meet and help the students as they discover what their paths might be in the future!

We recently hosted a Brain Health Alumni Lifestyle session with our Nourish expert, Cheryl Hoover! Not only did alumni get to catch up with each other and meet other alumni from different workshops, but they also got to reconnect with Cheryl as she prepared a delicious, fresh herb and pasta salad filled with greens!

Our Brain Health Workshop series will pick back up in the new year, stay tuned for more information on how to join!

We are living stronger together! Over the summer, we introduced a brand-new, free pilot program called Parkinson’s Power at The Ivey. Our comprehensive program was created not just for individuals living with Parkinson’s, but also for the caregivers who walk alongside them. We wanted to make life a little easier, so we brought the most popular Parkinson’s classes & resources under one roof. From physical strength like Rock Steady Boxing, Tai Chi, Power Up (PWR! Moves), to emotional and mental wellness through Yoga, Neurologic Music Therapy, Education, Support Group, Social Connection – we’re here for you every step of the way. We had so much fun cruising through summer this year! Enjoy a look back over the last few months of the fun The Ivey has been having! Thank you to the Providence United Methodist Church Choir for putting together a beautiful medley featuring songs from everyone’s favorite musicals, and a special thank you to the volunteer team from Coca Cola Consolidated for joining our Family Summer Party with coke floats, goodie bags, and for bringing the polar bear along.

In this cross-functional team role, you will be responsible for executing duties in multiple areas of the organization, creating a welcoming, positive member experience through our Respite Club, Brain Health Workshops, Caregiver Resources, and Front Desk Member Experience.

If you believe learning and growth don’t stop at any age, you’ll thrive as a Life Enrichment Coordinator with The Ivey. This role calls for creativity, empathy, and the ability to design enriching, person-centered experiences that inspire connection and spark curiosity.
