🥗 We're Hiring: Assistant Chef 👨‍🍳

Join AMOR Healing Kitchen! We're seeking a passionate Assistant Chef to join our culi ary team to help us prepare nutritious, plant-based meals for our community members facing health challenges—while mentoring and inspiring our amazing teen volunteer team.

About the role: Food prep & ex*****on, inventory management, volunteer guidance, and kitchen leadership

🥦 27 hrs/week (Tues-Fri), $20-23/hr

What we're looking for: ServSafe certified culinary professionals with 5+ years experience or formal culinary education and a passion for whole foods & plant-based cooking.

Your generosity means our clients will be able to enjoy fresh, delicious fruit, and what a harvest it was! That was certainly a lot of pears to pick. 😅

Diana also shared that she grows Guava! Who knew that was a thing in the Lowcountry? Pro tip- grow them in a pot and bring them into the garage when the cold really hits and then your guava growing will be a success!!

Last week, Board Members Megan and Genna had the opportunity to deliver meals to several of our clients, experiencing firsthand the lives we touch through food and the meaningful impact their service has on our community.

As we ramp up meal production for our community members, our equipment needs keep growing too. The support we receive makes such a difference.

GIVE A LOT O' GELATO! 🍨

9 months ago, our volunteer Steve came to us with an idea: make his own vegan gelato and sorbet, sell it in our Grab & Grow shop, and donate every penny to our mission.

100 pints later, Steve has blossomed into a true gelato connoisseur, with several flavors under his belt and a fan-favorite spot in our shop!

If AMOR were a school, Steve would definitely be an A student. 🎓

☀️💚 As Summer comes to a close, we want to give thanks for our friends over at The Green Heart Project! We were lucky enough to be part of their Youth Internship Program, and we are so grateful! We shared knowledge, shared laughs and grew a little bit more together. We hope this is just the beginning of empowering the youth and contributing to our community together!

Thank you to the entire Green Heart team and especially to Gracie, Nia, Jaden, Jaliyah and Abbi for inspiring us and sharing your passions in our kitchen this summer! We know you’ll sprinkle the seeds for growth all around! 💚🙏🥦

It's the last week for our spring semester Teen Chef program! We had a double mother-daughter volunteer duo join us this round and we loved the energy of them volunteering together 🤗 And they spoiled us for their last shift by bringing us the sweetest card and a big ol tub of delicious home-made guacamole 😋🥑
In case you didn't know, our love language is food 💓💓💓
We're excited to welcome our new summer volunteers next week, mandatory orientation is on Monday!
