🌞🫧 School’s out for summer… and we’re celebrating with a Bubble Break! 🫧🌞

Join Cabin Creek Health Systems at Westside Health TODAY, May 29th from 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM for an afternoon of bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and summer fun!

📍 303 Ohio Avenue, Charleston

As families head home from the last day of school, we invite parents and kids to stop by and kick off summer with us! We’ll have:
✨ Bubble blowing
🎨 Sidewalk chalk for creative fun
😊 A positive, healthy way to take a “Bubble Break”

In recognition of World No To***co Day, we’re encouraging our staff and community to swap “smoke breaks” for healthy breathing breaks, because every breath matters. 💙

We’ll also be sharing information about our Breathing Center Rehabilitation Program and the services available through CCHS to support healthier lungs and healthier lives.

We can’t wait to celebrate the start of summer with you! ☀️🫧 ***coDay

WVSU 4-H SUMMER DAY CAMP

** Open to rising 4th–8th graders **

Camp activities include:
Vex Go Robotics
Digitalis Planetarium
Nature walk and collage
Outdoor skills lab
Gardening and nutrition
Kids will prepare breakfast and lunch with adult assistance

Date: July 30

Time: 8 AM - 5 PM
(Early drop-off at 7:30 AM and late pick-up until 6 PM available)

Location: WVSU Campus, IREB Building – Multipurpose Room (200 Ave A, Institute, WV 25112)

Cost: FREE

We had such a great time at the Charleston Job Corps Center's Career Fair last week!

Charleston Job Corps has a rich history shaped by the legacy of Curtis Price, whose commitment to education, opportunity, and community uplift continues to influence the work happening on campus today. The center plays an important role in our region by helping young adults build skills, confidence, and a clear path toward strong careers. Their campus environment, training programs, and student support services make a real difference, and it was inspiring to see it all in action.

We loved connecting with employers and community partners and bringing those resources back to our Collaborative. Talking with the students was a highlight. They shared their goals, their journeys, and what they are working toward. And like always, we met people with West Side roots or long-lasting ties to our community. Those moments remind us why this work matters.

We appreciate the partnership and continued collaboration with Charleston Job Corps and look forward to what we will build together.

West Virginia youth are invited to participate in a free, one-day program at West Virginia State University on July 30. Activities include robotics, nature, cooking, and more.

Summer Snack Program

An 11:00am snack is open to all children, ages 18 years and under, who would like to participate.

Snack will be served at the following sites:

Orchard Manner- in the Switzer Center
(Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Address: Washington St W &, Griffin Dr, Charleston, WV 25387

South Park Village
(Mondays and Fridays)
Address: 680 South Park Road, Charleston, WV 25304.

Snacks will be provided from 11:00am to 12:00pm starting June 8th and ending on August 14th, 2026. We will be closed on June 19th and July 3rd in observance of Juneteenth and Independence Day.
