Kesem is a nationwide community, led by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer.

Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at UNC-Chapel Hill was founded in 2016 and supports children in the North Carolina community by providing a free week-long summer camp experience and year-round peer support. Camp Kesem at UNC-Chapel Hill is operated by over 90 student volunteers and serves over 110 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.

Let the countdown begin!! Giving Tuesday is in SIX weeks and we're showing you SIX ways that your donation will help our campers!

Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving on December 1st. Here at Kesem at UNC, we're trying to raise $42,000 in one day!!!! We're going to need YOUR HELP to get there! On Giving Tuesday, we'll be hosting on-campus fundraisers, completing bingo and dare boards, and so much more! Follow along with our countdown in the coming weeks to learn more!

Calling all Kesem teens! Join us for our Fall TLP DAY!!!! We'll be making memory boxes, writing letters, and catching up! The event will be on the UNC campus on October 25 from 2PM-4PM. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🩷 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There are currently over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. No child should face a parent’s breast cancer alone. That’s why you should support Camp Kesem, the leading national organization supporting children ages 6 to 18 through and beyond a parent’s cancer. GO PINK TEAM 💞
