💙📰What's the Scoop Saturday?📰💙

Dayton Project Linus was honored to be part of a very special celebration recently. We had the privilege of presenting two camp-themed quilts to graduates of Camp Mariposa, a year-round mentoring program that these young adults committed to throughout their middle school and high school years.

These handmade quilts were created as tangible reminders of their accomplishments, perseverance, and the support they received along their journey.

As we move into the summer months, we will be changing our social media format from weekly posts to monthly updates. Thank you for your continued support of our mission to provide comfort to children in need. We look forward to connecting with you each month!

We’re excited to share that Dayton Project Linus has been selected as the June “Craft for a Cause” organization for the Greene County Public Library system!

We invite our amazing community of crafters, quilters, crocheters, knitters, and fleece blanket makers to help us provide comfort to children in need by creating a handmade blanket for a child from toddler through teen.

Accepted blanket types:
🧵 Quilts
🧶 Afghans
✂️ No-sew fleece blankets

Blanket guidelines:
✔️ New and handmade
✔️ Minimum size: 36” square
✔️ Maximum size: 50" x 70"

Completed blankets can be dropped off at any Greene County Public Library location through the end of June.

Today we’d like to give a big shoutout to Home Depot at 5860 Wilmington Pike in Centerville for their generous in-kind donation of our favorite bags used to store and deliver blankets.

We’re sincerely grateful for your support! These supplies play a vital role in ensuring our blankets reach our partner agencies organized, clean, and ready to make a difference. Thank you for helping us serve our community!

💙Monthly Work Day Reminder💙

It's almost time for our monthly work day with Dayton Project Linus! We will meet this coming Saturday, May 9th from 9 AM - 11:30 AM. Join us at the Lofino Plaza Meeting Room, 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432.

Bring your completed donation blankets, favorite beverage in a travel mug, and your latest blanket project to work on (crochet, knit, fleece, quilt, etc.). Don't have a current project? We will find a job for you - from prepping fleece for upcoming events to sorting and organizing our recent donations - come lend a hand and make a difference!

And as a reminder, you are welcome to drop-off your finished, handmade blankets during any of our events. You are welcome to stay for the entire event, but if your schedule only allows for a quick drop-off, that's fine too!

Our Dayton Project Linus chapter recently had the honor of making a special delivery of handmade, cozy fleece blankets to Hospice of Dayton for their 2026 Camp Pathways weekend .

Camp Pathways provides support for grieving children and teens from the Dayton region and surrounding communities. The camp serves youth who have experienced the death of a significant loved one, offering a unique space where they can express their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

We’re grateful to play a small part in bringing comfort, warmth, and a sense of security to these children during such an important time. Keep those cozy handmade fleece blankets coming—and thank you to everyone who makes and donates them with love!

Hot off the press! We had a wonderful day celebrating and appreciating our amazing blanketeers and all they do to support our mission here in the Dayton region. We’re especially grateful to Seasoned with Love for donating beautiful box lunches—complete with generously stacked sandwiches, chips, and fresh, delicious fruit—as a way to honor the time, talent, and financial support our volunteers give so generously.

As you can see, we got a lot of "stitchin" done—and we shared meaningful conversation and a strong sense of community. Our blanketeers even surprised our chapter leaders with flowers! Thank you to everyone who made the day so special!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! At Dayton Project Linus, our “blanketeers” are the heart of everything we do. There are so many ways our volunteers make a difference—creating beautiful handmade blankets, joining us at workdays, helping deliver blankets to our partner organizations, and supporting us through donations and financial gifts.

Every role matters. And every blanket tells a child: you are not alone.

To celebrate YOU, we’re hosting a special Stitchin’ Saturday + Volunteer Appreciation Day!

⏰ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (drop in anytime!)

Please be sure to mark that you’re coming on the Facebook event or reply here so we can plan an accurate lunch count.

Come for the whole day or any part of it—no agenda, just stitchin’ and fun.

We’ll have:
– Limited fleece for no-sew blankets
– Quilt kits
– Yarn

If you plan to sew, please bring your machine and basic supplies. We’ll have irons and ironing boards set up.
