Troop 55

Troop 55 Troop 55 is a Boy Scout Troop in Cedar Falls, Iowa. We meet every Monday night at 6:45 p.m. We are chartered through Orchard Hill Church.

We are back to normal meetings and we encourage any boy or girl who is 11 -18 to come and see what we do. We are a very active Troop and enjoy camping every month, including the winter. We try and do at least one "High Adventure Trip" each year for our older scouts. We are proud of all of our scouts and excited to have over 130 Eagle Scouts.

Tonight the Winnebago Council held its Silver Beaver Court of Honor. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor a local council awards to registered adults. Troop 55 has amazing adult volunteers serving our troop and we are so very fortunate to have two of our scouters receive this honor tonight. Congratulations to Abi and Jeff for your countless hours of service to scouting. Also attending the ceremony tonight were Tammy and Carol, Silver Beaver Award honorees from previous years. They both continue to serve the troop and council. To all four of these scouters - thanks for all you do!

A big thank you to USS Iowa sailors Petty Officer Wirth, TMC LaFave, and Petty Officer Bouck for helping at our can drive this morning! We had fun meeting you and learning about the Navy. It was also great hearing about Petty Officer Wirth's journey as an Eagle Scout! 🦅 We appreciate your help!

Scouts have been making the most of their first couple days at camp! From opening campfire, to merit badge sessions, and Tuesday night vespers, everyone has been having fun!

Huge thank you to everyone that dropped off their bottles and cans today! We had a huge turnout and are so thankful for everyone’s donations that help our scouts on their activities and adventures!

Last night we closed out our year of scouting by going to Palmers Family Fun Center. We enjoyed our time playing mini-golf and playing on the jumping pillow. Some of us also loved playing archery tag, racing in the go-carts, and doing the driving range!
