📚❤️ Please Join Us in Honoring the Life and Legacy of Dolly Parton

Today, we invite our community to join the Etowah Foundation in honoring the extraordinary life and legacy of Dolly Parton.

While Dolly will forever be remembered for her music, her unmistakable personality, her kindness, and the joy she brought to generations, we at the Etowah Foundation are especially grateful for a different part of her legacy — Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

What began in 1995 as Dolly’s dream to put books into the hands of young children grew into an extraordinary early-literacy movement, providing free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five.

Here in our own community, we have had the privilege of helping carry that dream forward.

Every month, when a child runs to the mailbox and finds a book addressed especially to them, a little piece of Dolly’s vision lives on. Every bedtime story, every favorite page read again and again, and every child who discovers a love of reading is part of the legacy she leaves behind.

Dolly encouraged children to “Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More.”

As we remember her today, we hope you will join us in celebrating a life that gave so much to so many — and in honoring her by continuing the work she cared so deeply about: opening doors for children through the gift of reading.

Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that changing the world can begin with something as simple as putting a book in a child’s hands. 📖❤️

Your songs will be sung for generations. Your stories will be read for generations. And your dream will continue with every book placed in the hands of a child.

We’re so excited to host our annual Aim for Education Clay Shoot at Garland Mountain Sporting Clays & Grill! It’s going to be a great day of camaraderie and s***t shooting.

The Bookmobile is turning the page—and looking for its next Coordinator!

As our wonderful Bookmobile Coordinator moves on to her next chapter, we’re looking for someone new to take the wheel and carry this important work forward.

At the heart of the Bookmobile is a simple but powerful idea: every child and family deserves access to books, stories, and opportunities to learn.

Early exposure to language and literature helps build the foundation for so much more than learning to read. It supports early brain development, strengthens vocabulary and communication, encourages curiosity and imagination, and helps children develop the cognitive skills they’ll carry with them into school and beyond.

The Bookmobile helps bring those opportunities directly to families—removing barriers to access and putting books and resources into the hands of children throughout our community.

We’re looking for a coordinator who believes in that mission and is excited to take it on the road.

Big news for the Future Centers! 🎉

When we launched the Future Centers, our goal was simple: ensure every student has someone in their corner as they navigate life after high school.

Today, we're excited to share another milestone.

The Etowah Foundation Future Centers are now recognized as a Community-Based Organization within the Common App, allowing our advisors to support students directly through one of the nation's most widely used college application platforms.

While this may seem like a small update, it represents something much bigger.

It means students have another trusted advocate walking alongside them as they apply for college, pursue scholarships, and take the next step toward their future.

This is one more way we're breaking down barriers and making post-secondary success more accessible for every student we serve.

The Future Centers continue to grow, and so does our commitment to helping students discover what's possible.

Because every student deserves a pathway to success.

What makes Bartow County special? For Zach Pritchard, it’s simple: the people.

This is a community that shows up for one another. We celebrate each other’s successes, lend a hand when it’s needed, and believe that investing in our neighbors creates a stronger future for everyone.
